CHAP:2:Unexpected

In the same night around the same time on the other side of town, someone else was being chased down.

"where did he go ? Let's see Mirai take him from the north and i'll stay here. Let's end the cat and mouse chase once and for all "said a guy sitting on top of an electric pole.

A guy standing on a nearby rooftop who must have been Mirai because as soon as the burly guy said it, he leaped from rooftop to rooftop as stealthy as a cat towards north.

A few minutes passed, then a whole hour passed, just as the guy on the electric pole was deciding whether to head after Mirai or not, it started to rain and as rain got heavier and heavier he got increasingly frustrated. He got excited when a distinctive sloshing of feet could be heard nearby, but the rain made it hard to see. Soon he spotted a hooded guy running at top speed towards him followed by a blur of motion. Mirai ! Finally !

A telepathic message confirmed what he had already gussed. Mirai has been chasing the guy for over an hour. And something seems to be off about him.

Agatsuma Chisai jumped down from the pole and landed right in front of his prey. The guy seeing his enemies closing in on him decided it was now time to use his trump card. To their utter shock , (just as he had predicted) he bent down and as soon as his palms touched the street the area started to glow and exploded like a land mine and in the black cloud of confusion the guy used the explosion to accelerate his jump at the same time propell him over Chisai's head.

He smirked as he saw Chisai's shocked expression. But his glee didn't last him long as he felt something piercing him from behind, as he looked down at his chest he saw a jagged pole protruding from it. His surprise turned to anguish as he toppled to the ground.

Mirai had thrown the pole just in time but the blast had caught his arm and his hand was bleeding. Chisai run over to help, Chisai swore as he examined the damage. With a grim expression , he went over to the culprit and turned him over. Dammit , I so do not like the way things are turning out he thought.

" So what do we do ? you can't do anything with that hand and i don't know how ." sighed Chisai.

"Well" grimaced Mirai at his hand , it was still bleeding profusely "the only solution I can think of is to take him to Headquarters. It will be a labourous job not to mention risky even with my powers " said Mirai.

"We don't have a choice I guess. This sucks , why weren't we informed of this ? then he couldn't have taken us by surprise ! I don't like the way they treat us like guinea pigs , not at all. " Chisai gritted his teeth.

The wind whipped at their faces , swirling around them forming a miniature hurricane as it slowly swallowed the three in it. As they vanished, the wind subsided , everything returned to normal except there was now an unexplained crater in the middle of the road.
