The journey went well, they had a good time, still there was also some tension in the air, because they were going to war and they had to manage to stay out of their parents gaze, which they did not think that would be easy.
Jorah Targaryen was very happy to be able to come, because this would be something to see and if he was to be King someday he had to know what the battlefield was like, what a real fight was like. However, he was also a bit anxious, because he did not know what he was heading into. Not that any of the others did. Jorah always looked up to his father and his father had been born in the North, therefore he was going to defend the North. He knew that his father had gone to get help. Still, his mother was there and he also knew that she was a warrior too. He admired that very much.
Jorah knew that one day he had to become King, still it did not make it any easier, there was a lot of pression in it. He knew that his parents would never put that pression on him, but he put it there himself. He never showed it, though.
When they got to the Six Kingdoms' army camp, they had to look for an empty tent. The camp was in the edge of the Wolfswood, because they would not risk entering the wood and getting trapped eventually without escape if the battle reached it's point. They went to the infantry flank and campped, because as much as they liked to combat side by side with knights, they had to stay out of the gaze of their parents. Luckily for them, Gerion knew the camp, because he had managed to see the maps back at Winterfell, and he managed to get them one tent on the edge of camp that was always empty.
They entered the tent and put their belongings there.
"This is a good place for us, I think." Galladon said.
"Are you sure this is empty?" Jenny asked.
"No one ever comes here, it is just in case someone doesn't have a place." Gerion said.
"What are we going to do now?" Jorah asked.
"We have to wait for the battle." Marianne said.
"It does not seem that there was a battle yet." Mia said.
"Here, at least." Jorah said. The fields they passed through were all devastated, they were either burn or empty. It was terrible to look at and it sent a chill to everyone who did, or so Jorah thought and he was not the only one.
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that here." Galladon said.
"We have to rest." Jenny said and then they sat in their bedrolls.
Jorah sat in his and immediately Kingly, his dragon, came to him and sniffed him and he gave him a piece of meat.
There had been three dragon eggs again and from them were born three dragons, one to each of the Targaryen children. Kingly was Jorah's, Sky, who had blue eyes and black scales, was Lyanna's and Rhaenys, who had violet eyes and golden scales, was Rhaella's.
"Dracarys." Jorah said and the baby dragon fried his food and ate it. This dragon had black scales and red eyes and was still a cub just as the others, however he never left Jorah.
"He's growing fast." Mia said.
"Not too fast, I hope." Jorah said.
"I can't believe you managed to get him to get here, I can't get Bold to get anywhere." Gerion said and the dragon went to him and he petted him.
"It's the same with me and Brave." Mia said, reffering to her direwolf, and petted the dragon as well, who by then was next to her. The dragon was just wandering free around the tent.
"Do you think it's a coincidence that you two have direwolves with almost the same name?" Marianne asked teasing.
"It really is, we don't know how it happened." Gerion said with a chuckle.
"Yes, we really don't know." Mia said with a giggle.
"I think we should have baby lions or even better lionesses." Jenny said kidding and petting the dragon that by then was lying between her and Galladon. The dragons always got along very well with the Lannisters, every one of them. Besides, the Targaryens that were obviously their parents, the Lannisters were the ones with whom they got along better.
"That would be so amazing." Marianne said kidding as well.
"Am I really the only one that does not have an animal as sigil of his house?" Galladon said with a chuckle and dragon sniffed him, as if saying 'I'm here, you know?' and he petted him.
"I don't think he agrees, Gal. Besides, you have the sea for yourselves." Jorah said.
"That is true." Galladon said.
"How will you call your ship?" Marianne asked.
"I don't know... maybe Intrepid." Galladon said.
"That's totally you." Jenny said smiling and he looked at her smiling too.
"I can't believe I didn't notice you two were together. It's pretty obvious." Jorah said honestly.
"I suspected it." Mia said.
"Thank you for not saying anything." Jenny said.
"You're welcome, I kinda of figure out that you didn't want to say anything." Mia said.
"Thank you anyway." Galladon said.
"Me and Mary told you to be careful." Gerion said.
"We were... I still do not have the slightest idea of how my father knew of that place." Galladon said.
"Neither do I know why my father knew about it as well." Jenny said.
"Guess we'll never know." Marianne said.
"Still, you were in KingsLanding, you should have known." Jorah said, he had grown up in that city and it was full of secrets.
Then after some more time talking, they went to sleep.
In the next day morning, they woke up and realized that they needed food, therefore Jorah, Gerion and Galladon went to get some food. The young women could not go because that would be too obvious and would raise suspicious, which was not good for them.
They went to the tent where they were serving the food and took some food, they were wearing cloaks, still some of the servants looked at them suspciously.
"Where d'you come from, lads?" one of the servants asked.
"Uh, Ashemark." Galladon said, he had heard his father said it once.
"Are you sure, young men?" the servant said, looking at them with a distrustful look.
"Yes, that's where we were born." Gerion said.
"It seems that I've seen you somewhere else." the servant said.
"I don't think so, m'lord, we just left our village this year." Jorah said, the best he could to not be too obvious about the fact that they were definetively not from Ashemark.
"Still... Have you ever been to Casterly Rock?" the servant said.
"Is it in Ashemark?" Galladon asked right away.
"Well, no-" the servant said.
"Then we've never been there." Galladon said and then finally they went back to the tent.
As soon as they got to the tent and entered it, they sighed with relief.
"What happened?" Jenny asked, seeing the looks on their faces.
"We were nearly caught." Jorah said.
"How did you nearly got caught?" Marianne said.
"It was just a servant-" Gerion was saying, when the horn blew. They looked at each other surprised and a bit worried. Well, this is it..., Jorah thought. After the sound of the horn faded away, they ate something really quickly and then went to their positions. However, before leaving the tent they made a pact.
"Whatever happens, if someone is caught the others escape, alright?" Galladon said.
"Alright." everyone said, there was no need to risk all of them being caught.
Then they went to the positions, Jorah, Gerion and Galladon stood three lines in front of Mia, Marianne and Jenny, who were disguised as boys not to stand out and be caught.
Some time after, Daenerys gave the troops a speech,
"Today we are going to face the first battle, it may be that nothing will be decided in the first fight, or it may be that it will. I only know that, as a very good friend of mine said, if we fight with our hearts, we will win. Therefore, I ask you to fight with your hearts and for all that you hold dear. It's not easy, we all know that, but we have strenght, hope and resolve. We are the armies of Westeros, which other army can face us?!"
Wow. I want to speak like that someday, Jorah thought amazed as everybody cheered.
"Now, Ser Joanna, our Master of War, will do a march past to make sure that everything is as it must be." Daenerys said and then Joanna started in the first line. We're doomed, Jorah thought. The three of them looked at each other with a concerned look. They were in the fourth line and Mia, Marianne and Jenny were in seventh line, which was the last one.
Short seconds after, Joanna was passing the line they were in. When she passed through them, they stood very still. Please don't recognize us, please don't recognize us, Jorah kept thinking. Despite the feeling of anxiety and a bit of fear of being discovered, for they knew that they would probably send them back to KingsLanding, Joanna passed through them and it seemed that she had not recognized any of them. Galladon and Gerion found it very weird, because there was no way their aunt would not recognize them, or at least that was what they thought. Jorah found it a little weird, however not as much as they did.
Turned out, they were right to find it weird. When Joanna got to the line behind of them, she stood behind the three of them and said, in her voice of commander, which they had never heard before,
"Alright, soldiers, fall out! Prepare to the battle!" And the troops began to disperse. However, when Jorah, Gerion and Galladon were going away, she said seriously,
"Not you three." Damn it!, the three of them thought, as they stopped and turned, they knew that she was talking to them.
"What are you doing here?" Joanna asked them, seriously.
"We wanted to fight with you and our parents." Galladon said honestly.
"I understand that, but this is no normal enemy. You told us that you would stay in KingsLanding." Joanna said, she knew what that was, all of the adults knew what that was, still it did not serve as an excuse to disobey them.
"We know, but let us help you. Please, aunt Joanna. Don't sent us back to KingsLanding." Gerion said and Joanna thought, What am I going to do with these three?
"We are almost adults..." Jorah said.
"First, we are going to talk with your parents." Joanna said and they nodded. However, before going to the tent where the adults were, Joanna asked,
"Are you alone?" She knew that at least Jenny and Marianne were there as well.
"Yes, it's just the three of us." Jorah said right away. Jon never could lie straight..., Joanna thought.
"So, Jenny and Marianne or any of your cousins did not come with you?" Joanna asked again, seeing if they would tell her the truth.
"No, they are all in KingsLanding, we left them there and got out without anyone knowing." Gerion said. You lie just like your father, Ger. Tyrion always has an explaination ready, Joanna thought both happy and sad.
"Alright." Joanna said and then they went to the tent where the adults were having a meeting.
As they were going to the tent, they heard one of the servants said,
"I knew they weren't from Ashemark."
"Care to explain?" Joanna asked, looking at them, as they were walking through the middle of the camp.
"Well, we had to get food and he asked and it was the first thing that came to my mind. Ashemark. It's near the Rock, isn't it?" Galladon explained. Jaime, you better keep your mouth shut from time to time, Joanna thought amused.
"It is. And it belongs to House Marbrand. Be careful, this can get very confused at this time." Joanna said, as she mooved away a bit to get space for some soldiers to passed. The camp was agitated, because there were soldiers running through the middle of tents and some squires as well. The squires were no more than 8 to 11 years-old.
"Like Addam Marbrand? Father's childhood best friend?" Galladon asked curiously, as they all got back together in the way to the tent.
"That you'll have to ask him, Gal." Joanna said.
As they were walking, the questions continued and the grup of soldiers continue to go from one place to another as well.
"Aunt Joanna, did my mother brought Drogon?" Jorah asked, trying to swerve to one side to let people pass, however it always seemed that there was no space.
"I think so, but he went on a hunt, I think." Joanna said, who on the other hand seemed to have no problem with this kind of agitation.
"I brought Kingly." Jorah said in a low tone voice.
"Allright... you'll also have to talk with your mother about it. Alright, Jorah?" Joanna said, looking at him.
"Allright." Jorah said, nodding.
"Aunt Joanna, do you know anything about my parents?" Gerion asked concerned, looking around the camp for a sign of the troops from Winterfell, there was not any.
"They are safe and the castle is intact. And they have troops inside ready to fight." Joanna said, looking at him.
"Do you think that the castle will fall?" Gerion asked worried.
"I hope it doesn't. Ger, your parents are the best strategists that I know, they'll make it. Besides, we've been through worst." Joanna said assuring him and he nodded.
"What do you mean?..." Jorah asked confused and then he saw the tent. It was hard to miss, because it was more like a pavillion than a tent, at least that was what it looked like to Jorah.
"Nothing. And here we are..." Joanna said, when they stopped in front of the tent, and then she entered the tent and told them to follow her.
They went inside and all of the adults looked at them. Yup, we're doomed, Jorah thought instantly as he saw who was there.
"Well, guess we were right..." Joanna said.
"Does this look like KingsLanding to you?" Daenerys asked seriously.
"No..." all of them said, looking down.
"Then what are you doing here?" Daenerys asked.
"We came to... help..." Jorah said.
"To help? Jorah Targaryen, you're the heir to the Iron Throne, you should have more sense than to put your own life at risk. You have just abandoned your people, you know that you should never do that. I know you're 15, still I was Queen at 13 and I've never once put my life in risk, knowing fully well that if I did that, the realm could lost their Queen or King. Besides, this enemy, they want me, they want to destroy me and the best way to do that is attacking you or worst, killing you! Do you understand that, Jorah?" Daenerys said seriously and angry. Jorah looked at her surprised and worried, Galladon and Gerion looked at Brienne, Jaime, Joanna and Podrick, confused. They just looked at them without revealing a thing about the situation. There was a serious reason... it was not just because of the war, Jorah thought.
"And you two had a duty to keep as well, what do you have to say for yourselves?" Daenerys said seriously.
"We wanted to... help and to... fight with you..." Galladon said looking down.
"We told you to stay in KingsLanding for a reason, you say that you would. You had duties there and you know that you should have done them. You swore to uphold them. You are the eldests, Galladon and Gerion, you should have more senses. We told you a million times that you could not come, why did you disobey us?" Brienne said and Galladon and Gerion looked down. They were right, there was no excuse for what they did.
"Gerion, your parents sent you to KingsLanding to protect you. To get you away form here, away from danger and now you're back here, what will we say to them? They think you are safe and this battle camp is everything but safe." Joanna said. Tyrion and Sansa trusted them to protect him and now there was no way of doing that.
They keep starring at their feet... the adults looked at each other and proceed.
"I'm going to ask you again. Did you came alone?" Joanna asked.
"Yes." all of them said at once, they would not put their foot in it and say that Jenny, Marianne and Mia were there as well, besides little did they know that they were not the only ones.
"So you are telling us, that the girls did not come?" Joanna asked.
"Yes." they said again.
"I do not see that as being very likely, at least not peaceful..." Brienne said.
"I would not call it peaceful, but it happened..." Galladon said.
"Last chance, where are the girls?" Joanna asked. The young men were going to deny it again, when they heard,
"We're here." It was Jenny.
