"Come on Carson, you better hurry up putting your makeup on or we are going to be late." I said, knocking on Carson's room for the third time.

The door opened suddenly, revealing Carson. "Makeup? Seriously Kitten? You're bruising my ego here."

I rolled my eyes. "You must be putting on makeup to be taking so long." I turned to head downstairs. "Come on, I don't want to be late for school."

Carson shook his head and followed behind me. "Man, my girlfriend is bossy." He whispered under his breath.

"I heard that." I said, turning around and shoving his shoulders. He raised his hands up in surrender and grinned at me.

I turned back around and instantly froze in my tracks. A man was walking towards the stairs, carrying a small duffel bag. I haven't seen him before, but I could tell it was Carson's father. He was an exact replica of Carson. He must have just gotten home from his business trip.

He looked up when he saw me and then he turned to Carson, his eyes narrowing. "So you're having girls sleep here now?" He asked without preamble. He wasn't even affected that I was standing there.

"Dad, it's not liked that." Carson said behind me.

"So what is it then? Huh? Tell me. I want to hear you explain this." Carson's dad said. I was becoming very uncomfortable with this conversation. I wanted to get away. Or better yet, for the floor to open up and take me under.

Before Carson could answer his father, his mother appeared at the top of the stairs. "Marcus," she said in a warning tone. "Would you stop that? You're scaring the poor girl."

Mr. Knight looked up at his wife with an incredulous expression. "You're upholding with this, Marilyn?"

She sighed exasperatedly. "Would you come on up, so I can explain? You must be tired from your trip. I wanted to call and explain, but decided to wait until you got home." Mrs. Knight said. She then turned to us and smiled. "You guys go on now. Have a great day at school." She waved at us.

I was glad to escape this awkward situation, so I finished descending the stairs and walked briskly to the front door. Carson followed behind me. The voices of Carson's mother and father fading into the background.

When we were outside, Carson turned to me. "I'm sorry about that. My father never fails to say whatever comes to his mind." He apologized.

"Don't worry about it. I can understand why he's upset." I said as I opened the passenger side door of Carson's car.

Carson got into the driver's side. "It's okay though. Once my mother explains to him the situation, he won't mind you staying here." He assured me.

"I hope so." I said as Carson started the car and head for school.

"I can't believe you and Carson are dating!" Jasmine squealed, when we sat down in homeroom together.

She squealed so loud that a few students looked up at us. They, however, went back to what they were doing, not paying us any attention. Only a handful of students were in the room as we waited for the bell to ring.

Lucas who was sitting beside Jasmine, covers his ears with his hands. "Jasmine, are you going to damage my eardrums?" He asked.

Jasmine ignored his comment and turned back to me, who was sitting directly behind her. "I knew it was going to happen." She clasped her hands together like a kid about to open presents on Christmas morning. "This is so exciting!"

I smiled at her excitement. She was always excited, especially when it came to romance and relationships. "Thank you and I know you had said it." I said.
