You waited on the porch for Thomas. When he reached it, he jogged up the couple of stairs and stopped. He looked at you with a somewhat proud look. You smiled at him and nodded. He nodded back and headed into the house with you following right behind him.

You shut the large doors with a sigh and looked out the window framing around them. The car was far out of sight and Hoyt, Monty and Luda were still gone. You turned back to see Thomas staring at you again. You shook your head and ran your hand through your hair as he watched patiently.

"Sorry."

Thomas shrugged and turned back to the basement door. You paused a moment before you decided to follow him back down. You both headed back down into the basement and back into his room. He sat the chainsaw down at the foot of his bed and sat down with a huff. You looked at Thomas and bit your lip.

"You don't think he'll come back, do you?"

Thomas paused for a bit and you could see a small look of concern behind his eyes. You knew that somehow just chasing him off may not have been enough to keep him away forever. You walked over and took a seat besides Thomas on the bed.

"I mean, he seemed to have learned... right?"

Thomas shrugged and looked at you.

"Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have opened that door. What if something happens? Like what if he tells someone and they come out here? Would they send the police? If they did, what would happen to Hoyt, Luda and Monty? Thomas, what would happen to you?"

Thomas grunted and laid a hand on your shoulder. He was even somewhat surprised that you were this worried about it, and not to mention how you were worried about what would happen to him. Even though he was trying to reassure her, Thomas knew that he had gotten away. He knew that something bad could happen now and it would've been their own fault. Thomas could have easily caught him, he just didn't want to because he knew he was part of your own kin.

You looked up at him and sighed. It was his was of saying 'Everything's going to be okay.' You nodded and placed your hand on top of his which his was even more surprised at. Maybe he could just chase it out of her mind long enough until she forgot about it...

"You're probably right..."

You looked up at Thomas with a small smile.

"You did a good job scaring him off though. I don't think I was getting anywhere with him..."

Thomas grunted, nodding. A part of him was worried now. The chances of him coming back weren't likely but we're still there. He honestly had no idea what could happen to them. All he knew was if something did come up, he would fight. Even if it meant risking his own life.

"Thank you, Thomas."

Thomas grunted and looked at you for a moment and looked at the ground. He was doing that thing again. Just like he did at the tree. You paused for a moment, thinking. Thomas really wasn't all that bad, was he? Sure, he was big and intimidating but he wasn't as threatening as he seemed. Well. Not all the time. Or at least not to you...

Thomas had protected you from day one. He was the one who wanted to keep you around. Not Hoyt, not luda, not Monty, him. He wanted you there. Why? You still had no idea. Maybe it was just his instincts? You didn't know. Especially ever since you had attacked the girl, Thomas had been more careful around you. He trusted you.

He was more than just strength and anger and he obviously cared about you, as well as had feelings for you. But why hadn't you done much for him in return? You thought about the kiss again. Was that what he had been trying to tell you earlier? That would have made sense. He couldn't exactly tell you so he showed you.

You thought about this for a moment before you turned to him. You gently reached up and put a hand on his face and turned his head so he was looking at you. Thomas looked at you slightly curious but mostly confused.

You hesitated before you leaned up and kissed him. Maybe it was time you did something for him. You shut your eyes and leaned closer to him. Thomas on the other hand was stunned.

He froze for a moment. He was still trying to process what was happening. He soon figured it out as it quickly replayed in his head. You had kissed him. Thomas's eyes lit up slightly and he kissed back, closing his eyes as well.

You reached up and put your other hand on the side of his face as well. As you did so you deepened the kiss. Thomas slowly wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer. You moved your hands up further and dug them into his curly black mess of hair.

Thomas melted further into it. He had waited for you to do this ever since you had attacked the girl. Doing that had showed him that you cared. Even if it was just the slightest amount, it still meant something to him.

When you pulled away from the lack of air
Thomas looked at you with a half curious, half excited look. You laughed a bit and turned away, red faced. Thomas smiled to himself. He never would have imagined you would do that. Not in a long while.

You and Thomas sat in silence for a while. There was nothing to say. Thomas's thoughts raced and you sat there trying not to make things even more awkward then they had already become. You jumped a bit as you heard a truck door slam from outside. Then soon came another one.

You could here the front doors being opened as you heard all of them come through. First Hoyt...then luda...finally Monty. They were home and there was no screaming for either you or Thomas so things must have gone well for them. At least you hoped so...

Thomas watched their footstep patterns overhead, tracing the floorboards with his eyes as each steps made a hollow thud. He paitently waited for them to pass before he turned back to you.
