Chapter 11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night was definitely crazy. I had woken up about twenty minutes ago and now was eating breakfast with Savannah. I was really grateful to have her in my life right now. She'd totally been helping me out. Without Savy, I would be so lost.
I flipped on the TV and was shocked by what I saw. They were broadcasting the blue carpet walk before the Teens United Awards. There was tons of people lined up out side the convention center.
A reporter's voice began to speak.
"Tonight marks the 20th anniversary of the famously known, Teens United Awards and this years show is sure to send some new thrills with singer Jonah Creed hosting. The teen heartthrob hasn't spilled much about tonight, but he did tweet that it is sure to impress."
"I'm so excited!" Savannah squealed.
I smiled at the the picture of Jonah on the screen.
"What are you smiling about?" Savannah laughed.
"Oh nothing." I looked away.
Savannah shrugged and ate some cereal. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out and read the caller ID. It read "Dad".
Oh hell no, I'm not answering this. Savannah walked over.
"Is everything okay?" Savannah asked.
I realized my teeth and fist were clenched. I relaxed.
"Yeah I think." I put my head in my hands and leaned against the counter.
*Flashback*
There I was, eight years old sitting in my dark room crying on my bed. My dad was captain of the Miami Police Department and he been sent out on a special assignment after a dangerous criminal. Today, it was my birthday and my dad was suppose to come home because my mom was out of town. My dad had promised to be here.
It was quarter till midnight and I couldn't sleep because daddy never came to kiss me goodnight. I heard banging on the door. Someone was messing with the door and I heard running footsteps up the stairs towards my room.
My dad burst through my door and flipped on the light. I continued to cry and my red, puffy eyes met his tired ones. He ran over to he and he pulled me into an tight embrace. I softly cried and clung to him.
"I'm so sorry Caity." he spoke slowly.
I just cried and cried, too upset to speak.
"It wont happen again." he pulled out of the hug and looked me in the eyes again. "Listen, as long as i'm alive, I'll be here for you and your mother. I'm so sorry Caity, do you forgive me?" he pleaded.
I nodded and cried. He pulled me into a hug again.
*End Flashback*
Once I came to, I wiped my face of the tears and sat down on the couch.
"The flashback?" Savannah asked.
"Yeah." I grunted.
Savy just nodded.
"Today IS going to be be the best day ever!" I said determined.
