Calm yourself.
You are going to figure it out. You don't need to be unnecessarily anxious, everything is going to be okay. You are going to have fun and socialize. Don't drown in a glass of water. Don't let tiny issues bring your fear out. Do not have a panic attack out of this small situation.
Things aren't going as you thought but that doesn't mean that it will be bad. You can't control everything, you need to adapt and learn how to talk to others without being so nervous. Stop sweating and hold your tears back. People won't hurt you, they are just new friends who want to know you.
If you need to, leave the room, go to the bathroom and take a deep breath. Do not panic or runaway.
Breath in and out. Smile and make an effort.
