Chapter 13: A Free Day

Orion rubbed his eyes as he began to wake up. When he tried to sit up, he immediately felt a surge of pain pass through his entire body. Orion rubbed his head as he began to remember what had happened the day before. He remembered how he faced the Nomu in the USJ and nearly died. Orion groaned as he got out of bed and put on his slippers. He began walking to the kitchen to eat breakfast, only to see that Toshinori was extinguish a fire of what he believed to be meant to be pancakes. The smell was the only thing that made him think that it was pancakes. Toshinori finished putting out the fire and was putting away the fire extinguisher when he saw Orion walking out. Toshinori asked, "Orion, are you okay?" Orion replied, "Yeah, I am. Well, I still feel the pain from yesterday. What are you doing?" Toshinori said with an embarrassed smile, "Well, I was hungry, but it seems that I am very bad at cooking and making even the simplest of breakfast foods." Orion said, "Of course you are. That's what I'm here for. I cook, you give me al the money and stuff that I want." Toshinori raised his eyebrow, "I don't think that is how a father son relationship is suppose to work." Orion said, "Well, that's how our relationship works." Toshinori said, "Well, at least you are awake before noon. The school gave you a free day today. We can do whatever you want. But first, you probably want to eat breakfast." Orion looked at the pan that Toshinori had extinguished, "Well, I think that we need to go out ot eat breakfast. I don't feel like cooking. But, first, I need pain killers." Orion went to the bathroom and swallowed some pain killers before changing into an All Might hoodie and blue jeans before heading out.

Toshinori and Orion went out in their civilian forms to a cafe nearby. As the walked, Toshinori began telling him what had happened after he passed out at the USJ. Orion was relieved that the other students were safe. When his father explained that the Nomu nearly killed him, Orion frowned and began to worry about the new enemy, "It seems that more and more villains are becoming aware of your weakened state. More like, they've been preparing for you to become weaker. Do you have anymore information on the Nomu thing?" Toshinori said, "Well, it seems that you're right about the villains preparing for my retirement. Looks like they have been preparing. As for the Nomu, the police are still conducting an investigation about the Nomu and are searching for information regarding the League of Villains." Orion hummed as they entered the cafe. They took their seats and placed their orders. As they waited for their breakfast, they fell ito an awkward silence. Once their food arrived, they began to eat. As they ate, Toshinori looked at his son. He cleared his throat before saying, "You know, your mother loved this cafe. It was where we had our first date." Orion was surprised by what Toshinori said. It was rare for his father to ever mention his mother. They didn't even celebrate her death because it was also Orion's birthday. Orion said, "I know." Toshinori was shocked by what his son said, "What? How could you have known? I never told you anything." Orion said, "When I was a bit younger, when I was starting out as a pro, I did some research. I used some of the connections that I formed to find out information on mom. Since you weren't telling me anything about her." Toshinori stared at his son for a moment before returning to his breakfast.
