His lips brushed mine softly but I pulled him closer to me, deepening the kiss as my hunger for him grew stronger. I moaned as his tongue slid against mine, tasting of mint and whiskey. I had never felt a desire like this, burning inside of me as it threatened to consume my body. I wanted to taste every part of him, kiss every inch of his body and mark it as mine.
His hardened length pressed against my core through my sweats and I instinctively ground myself against him, my body aching for his touch. August growled and pulled away as he tore my thin tank top from my body and tossed the shredded fabric to the floor. My small breasts were exposed to him, his eyes taking in my body as I lay half naked beneath him.
"So beautiful," he whispered, his eyes filled with lust.
I blushed at his words, wanting to cover myself but forcing myself to stay calm. I held my breath as he slowly lowered his head, taking one of my nipples into his mouth. I gasped at the sensation of his teeth lightly grazing the hardened bud while his hand gently teased the other into a sensitive peak. I arched my back trying to chase more of the divine sensation.
He released my nipple from his mouth and slowly trailed kisses down my stomach to just above the band of my sweats. August pressed his lips to mine as he slid his hand into my panties. He groaned when his fingers slid through my folds already slick with my juices as I writhed beneath him.
"Fuck, Princess, you're soaked," he breathed when he pulled his mouth from mine. "I want you so goddamn bad."
His voice sounded pained and I tried to focus on what he was saying but my lust-filled mind made it difficult.
"You can have me, August. All of me," I whispered as I tilted my hips to slide against his fingers still between my legs. I whimpered as pleasure shot through me. "I want you to have me."
"I can't, Princess." He said, his face contorted in agony.
But before I could respond, the room was suddenly engulfed in flames. The smell of burning fabric and wood filled my nose as smoke clouded the room. I coughed and gagged, fighting to breathe as I looked frantically around. I was now alone, August nowhere in sight as the room continued to burn.
I jumped up and wrapped the comforter around me as I rolled from the bed. Making my way to the door as fast as possible, I flung it open and ignored the searing pain in my hand. The hallway, too, was on fire; seemingly the entire house was in flames. I coughed as my lungs filled with smoke, gagging on the acrid scent.
I yelled for August or Nova but the only sound the met my ears was the crackling of flames and groaning of the house, the structure under stress as it burned. Tears stung my eyes as fear gripped me but I couldn't just stand there, I had to find a way out. I turned towards the stairs but as I approached an explosion shook the floor beneath my feet sending me headed straight toward the heat.
Suddenly, a flash of blonde hair met my vision and then darkness descended as nothingness engulfed me.
I sat bolt upright in my bed, drenched in sweat and gasping for breath. My heart raced, blood pounding my ears as the remnants of fear lingered in my veins. I looked around the dimly lit bedroom, blinking my eyes to clear my vision of the last vestiges of sleep. After a few moments, I had calmed down and was able to lay back down.
It was just a dream. Or it had started as a dream but had ended in a nightmare. I felt a blush creep up my neck as I remembered how it had started, how August had tasted and the coolness of his hands as they roamed over my heated skin. My body tingled as if the ghost of his touched remained, lingering even in my waking state. A smile tugged at my lips as I wondered if reality would be as good as my dreams.
