"Are you sure I can't pay you Betty? You helped us so much," Reggie sticks his hand out towards me, a few stacks of money in his hand. I shake my head no, again.
"You're too kind, but I don't want the money. I only offered to help because you and Veronica are my friends," I dry my hands off with a towel.
"And as your friend, I'm giving you money because you helped us so much," Reggie groans. "Veronica was right, you're stubborn."
"I am not," I laugh slipping on my sweater.
"You totally are," Reggie puts the cash in his pocket, finally giving up on the idea of paying me for helping with the bar. "Oh and that guy you drove home a few nights back, are you like a thing?"
Are we?
"Uh, it's complicated?" I furrow my brows clearly frustrated with his question.
He nods his head wiping down the countertops. He understood, when Veronica and him met they didn't make it official at first.
"I'm pretty sure he likes you, a lot," Reggie puts the towel on his shoulder fixing up the glass cups that seemed to went astray front their lines.
"Sure," I lean against the counter laughing.
"I'm serious, I couldn't help by overhear the conversation you too had. Not to mention the way he looked at you," Reggie smiles looking down. "It's the same exact look i so when I'm staring at Veronica."
"You really like her don't you?" I gush at him, trying my best to change the subject.
"Yeah, I do," he grabs his coat walking me outside.
"That's good," I nod my head, not even trying to hide the hurt in my voice.
"Hey," he grabs my arm to stop me from walking away. "I think he really likes you, talk to him. Okay? I'm sure he feels the same way."
"Thanks Reggie, I will, good luck with Veronica," I wink as I walk towards my car.
Earlier he told me he was going to surprise her with flowers and take her somewhere fancy, supposedly out of Riverdale. I hop in my car starting the engine. I wait for Reggie to pull out of the parking lot.
'It's complicated' it was. It really was.
I pull into my drive way, turning off the engine.
We were definitely not exclusive. Right?
"Hey," Jughead muffled voice scares me. His knuckle lightly tapping the glass. "You okay? You've been sitting here for like twenty minutes."
"Uh... yeah, I'm good," I clear my throat grabbing my purse. He opens the fold for me watching as I nervously hop out of the car. "I was just thinking."
"Thinking about what?"
Us.
"The bar, it was extremely busy today," I choke out digging in my purse for my house keys.
"Mhm, I bet you had a lot of guys flirting with you," he jokes.
Don't do it betty. Betty.
