I look around at the Seattle airport feeling nervous and excited at the same time. We had just landed and we were walking to baggage claim. A few people recognize Jughead and attempt to take a few sneaky photos.

"We'll be staying at my apartment, recover from jet lag and then I want to take you out for dress shopping," Jughead wraps his arm around me waist whispering in my ear.

"I brought a dress along, you don't have to spend money on me," I glance up at him.

"But I want to," he smiles down at me.

I grab my dark blue suit case with the yellow string.

"What's the event for?" I wait as Jughead grabs his own luggage.

"My birthday," he says monotone.

I stop dead in my tracks looking at him.

"Your birthday? I didn't get you a present," I wine at him. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because to me, birthdays are a waist of time and money. Now I do not want a birthday present, so don't get me one."

"Too late. I already know what I want to get," I smile at him.

He shakes his head and smiles at me.

"Come on," he holds onto my hand. "The driver is going to be mad if we don't hurry up."

We walk into his overly large apartment, the place is dull and is in need of bright color.

"Let's get you something to eat," he brings me into the kitchen.

"But I don't want to eat right now Daddy," I groan. "I want to go to sleep."

"Cranky, aren't you," he opens the fridge pulling out fruits. "He a good girl and eat your food."

I pout crossing my arms. The jet lag really caught up to me.

"You didn't eat anything that whole flight, now if you don't eat, you're going to get spankings," he looks at me sternly.

I grab a grape taking a bite. After eating a few fruits he brings me into his bedroom. I jump into the bed sighing happily. I take off my jeans throwing them on the floor.

Daddy picks them up putting them in the laundry basket. He slides in bed next to me wrapping himself around me.

"Goodnight daddy," I smile, kissing his cheek.

"Goodnight babygirl," he runs his hands through my hair.

I wake up feeling cold, I sit up realizing I'm alone. I wiggle out of the covers peaking my head out the door. I hear Jughead talking down the hall leading to what I think is the living room. I tip toe down the hall peaking around the corner.

"I really could care less about the party," he whispers. "Could you be quite I have company."

"Oh? Another of your 'girlfriends' that you'll never see again?" The lady uses air quotes.

Jughead notices me peaking around the corner.

"Of course not," he narrows his eyes at the lady. "Hi baby, why don't you come over here and introduce yourself?"

I blush nervously looking at the ground the entire time I walk over. Thank god this shirt is big enough to be hiding my underwear or I really would be embarrassed.

"Hi," I squeak.

"Betty, this is my mother, mother this is Betty," Jughead puts a hand on my back.

I meet her cold eyes, if looks could kill I would be ten feet underground right now.

"The party is in two days, I'll have everything ready. No distractions, Jughead," she looks at me, "not this time."

She leaves without another word making me think about what she said. Was I a distraction? This has happened before?

"Don't mind her, she can be really nice sometimes," Jughead sighs looking at my confused face. "Hungry?"

I dig into the Chinese food trying to watch the movie. But what his mother said earlier still larks in the back of my head.

"Daddy?" I look at him. He is engaged in the tv.

"Yes, baby girl?" He looks down at me.

"Do you think... I'm a distraction?" I look away instantly embarrassed that I even asked.

"No, why would you... don't listen to my mother, she's cold and doesn't have a filter," he plays with my hair. "You're so beautiful, did you know that?"

I turn my flushed face towards him. He's running his eyes over my face. He grabs me pulling me closer to him.

"Tomorrow, we go dress shopping, okay?" He whispers.

"Okay."

I can't help but notice the light gray dress in front of me, it had tiny little details spread out. Once I put it on I instantly fell in love.

"Baby, can I come in?" Jughead knocks on the door.

"Yes," I smile turning towards the door.

He opens the door and instantly gasps when he sees me.

"You look so gorgeous baby!" He grabs me twirling me around.

I giggle putting my head on his shoulder.

"Thank you daddy," I whisper into his ear.

"Let's buy it, I have another surprise for you kitten."

We quickly buy it racing towards the car. The driver and Jughead exchange a nod.

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise," he hushes me.

I stare out the window watching the buildings pass by. We stop in front of a meticulous building. Before I could ask anything he grabs my hand pulling me out.

What is this place?

"You'll find out soon," he says, reading my mind. We walk into the place, roses are everywhere and it smells like delicious food. "Table for Jones."

"Right this way, Mr. Jones," the waitress bats her eyelashes.

Jughead holds my hand as she leads us to stairs. Once we are at the very top, she opens a door that leads to a garden with glass walls so we can see the city. A table for two sits in the corner. The waitress leaves putting two menus on the table.

"This is gorgeous, thank you daddy," I hug him kissing his cheek.

"Anything for my princess," he smiles nudging me lightly.

As the sun sets, we eat and joke the entire time. I soon forget about my worries as I lean myself into Jughead looking at the beautiful plants in front of me.

He felt like home.
