I couldn't help but gawk at my new neighbor through my kitchen window. He looked like an actual god, the way his white shirt and jeans hugged his body made my heart beat faster in an instant.

"Why don't you just go talk to him?" Veronica, my best friend, called from the living room.

I was like an open book to her.

"And what? Embarrass myself? No thanks," I sigh shoving the tray of cookies into the oven.

"You should give him some of your wonderful cookies," Veronica walks in eying the bowl of leftover cookie dough. "Are you?-"

"Go ahead," I laugh as she grabs it instantly sticking her fingers into the bowl. "That's a great idea, we could invite him over from all the hard work he's been doing and you can give him some of your delicious lemonade."

"Um- I don't know V. You know how I get," I mumble setting a timer for the cookies.

"Oh please, pretty please. I can't watch you stare at him all day!" She pouts.

I could never resist the pouty face she gives me.

"Okay, okay. I'll ask him. Also, don't eat all that cookie dough, you'll get sick," I mumble, already feeling myself getting nervous.

It was pretty hot outside, so I decide against a cardigan. I quickly slip my flip-flops opening the door to be instantly blinded by the bright sun. Come on Betty, he's Just a person. A normal person.

I walk across the decent amount of space between our houses. The grass tickles the side of my feet and I feel myself starting to heat up. It's the sun. I tell myself. I mean it could be, but I am wearing a tank-top and a pair of jean shorts that 'made my legs look sexy' Veronica's words not mine.

He's bending down to grab something and I could already feel my nerves going crazy. I play with my fingers trying my hardest to not make a complete fool of myself.

I quickly clear my throat, "um- hi, I was wondering.... if you would like some lemonade? And I'm making some cookies."

He turns around making me gasp. He looked even hotter up close. A slight stubble on his face, and his dark black hair that made his electric blue eyes pop out.

"That would be delightful," he grabs a rag wiping his hands off. "I'm Forsythe, but you can call me Jughead."

That name sounds oddly familiar.

"Nice to meet you Jughead," I feel my cheeks heat up. "I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Betty. I live right next door," I jab my thumb in the direction of my house, I even turn around to see Veronica's mouth wide open as she stares at us from the window. "Don't mind her."

We begin walking back towards my house, he's so close are arms brush against each other sending little sparks throughout my body. I've never met a man who made me feel like- well like this.

Veronica opens the door multitasking, as she puts her shoes on.

"Gotta run B, Reggie just texted me about the bar. It's getting out of hand," she grins, liar.

I frown at her my nerves spiking about the feeling of being alone with him.

"Have fun B!" She yells runs passed us watching as her driver pulls up.

In the corner of my eye I see Jughead grin devilishly for a few seconds before returning to an emotionless face.

We walk in and I grab the glass full of fresh lemonade pouring both him and I a cup.
