I slip my Daddy's present into my purse before checking on my appearance in the mirror. We had an hour to get to his birthday party or his mom would most likely have a freak out.

"Ready?" Jughead walks into the room.

I nod my head, clinging onto his forearm. We stroll into the street towards the car, the driver holding the door open.

"Thank you," I smile at the driver, whose name I forgot.

After about thirty minutes of passing city lights, we are confronted by a rather large Victorian house. Cars are parked in every corner making the usual huge space tinier. Jughead helps me out of the car, holding onto my hand.

"This is where I grew up," Jughead slips his arm around my waist looking into my eyes.

"It's beautiful," I smile looking at the brick beams and dark grey walls, that might be even a lighter shade but due to it being late at night it's hard to tell.

We walk into the house greeted by people who I don't know. An older lady, maybe fifty of sixty, walks up to us. Her white fur coat clashing with her black dress.

"Oh Forsythe, happy birthday!" She grins, wrinkles, that weren't already there, appearing by her eyes.

"Thank you," he mumbles, his voice monotone.

"And whose this?" She looks at me, her face mixed with confusion and happiness.

"This is Elizabeth, my girlfriend," Jughead says strongly pulling me even closer to himself.

"Oh my dear, your dress is absolutely gorgeous," she steps back looking at my once over.

"Thank you, I love your dress as well," I look down blushing.

"I'm Sharon," she says. "Oh Jughead wbu don't you go talk to your mother, she's best the kitchen. Elizabeth dear, why don't you come with me to meet a few people."

"Uh," I look at Jughead, who seemed to be okay with the idea. "Okay."

Sharon grabs onto my arm dragging me up to this couple that was only a few feet away. I watch as Jughead slips away into the crowd.

"Excuse me, Miss? Are you alright," one of the ladies, part of the couple, furrows her brows at me.

"Yeah, sorry," I focus on the two lovely ladies in front of me.

"This is Elizabeth, Forsythe's girlfriend," Sharon says, making the two girls eyes pop out.

"I know," Sharon says. "I was extremely surprised when I found out too."

"I wish you and Forsythe the best," the other girl, her black hair tied up in a bun, says genuinely.

"How long have you two been together?" The other girl asks, her blonde hair partly down.

"Well, we made it official a couple of days ago," I smile remembering the breakfast we had at mine.

"And you met in Riverdale, yes?" The girl with the black hair asks.

"Yeah, we live next to each other," I nod my head.

"Well isn't that just spectacular!" The girl with the brown hair clasps her hands together. "Please invite me to the wedding."

"Calm down, they've only known each other for a while now," Sharon says, her grey eyes betraying her. "But if you do get married, please invite me as well." She whispers the last part.

I nervously laugh at them. Surely this whole marriage thing was way too early.

"I'm going to take Elizabeth to get a drink, we'll see you girls later," Sharon smiles dragging me to a bar. "Two champagnes, please."
