"Are you ok?" Virgil nodded again as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, I'm good. I'm just thinking." Roman narrowed his eyes as Virgil smiled slimly.

"About?" Virgil's gaze slowly dropped and Roman tensed seeing the slight bit of pain that filled Virgil's eyes. "Virgil?"

"Just... about home and my mother. I've been thinking about the void a lot lately and about everything I went through there." Virgil's lips twitched upward but Roman could still see the sadness. "I miss it but... at the same time, my life is so much better here. You even look at me differently."

"Wait..." Virgil shrugged as he started to walk off leaving Roman to have to catch up. "Virgil what did you mean?" Roman was trying to get the anxious one to answer as they slowly made there way back to the one door. "Virgil... stop." Virgil shook his head as Roman struggled to keep up with his pace through the crowd. "Virgil!" Roman grabbed Virgil's arm making them both come to a stop right in front of the door. Virgil was met with tears in Roman's eyes as the prince held on to him with desperation. "What did you mean?"

"Nothing, Princey. It's not important." Virgil tried to offer him a smile but it was pointless considering his curse. It really didn't matter... to Virgil anyway. To Roman that was a completely different story. By saying what he had, Virgil had told Roman they had in fact met before. In fact, they had met enough times for the prince to have had a certain way he looked at Virgil. A look that had changed now... which meant it couldn't have been good. "Let get back home, Roman..."

"Not until you explain it to me." Virgil was taken back by the obvious pained look Roman had. He didn't really understand it. It was all in the past and Virgil really didn't care. Well... He never liked how he was treated or talked about but it was different now. Things were better. "Virgil, I need to know. What did you mean by that?"

"It was nothing... just a stupid comment." Virgil's eyes darkened as Roman tensed up even more. "All I meant by that that is things are better for me now. Even with my curse, I don't get treated so poorly anymore."

"You were treated badly because of your curse?" Virgil frowned seeing Roman start to shake a bit as he pulled his arm away to hug himself. "What... why?"

"Roman, you..." Roman's eyes flashed as Virgil sighed. "Think about it. How did you feel about me before you found out I was cursed. I'm not open about it. I don't flaunt my gifts. In fact, back then I never used them unless it was to help my mother." Virgil slowly moved to the door doing the dial before turning back to Roman. "My lack of expression tended to frighten people. When I was out in the town I often was treated as if I was some punk about to start shit. Some even went so far as the call the cop." Roman's eyes were steadily getting wider as Virgil spoke, opening the door behind him without turning away from Roman. "There were many times that you would show up."

"What did I do?"

"What you always did?" Roman could feel his heartbreaking as Virgil moved aside for Roman to walk into his room. "I was just some kid who looked like he didn't care. You had to take everything into consideration and..." Roman's eyes went wide as things started to click. "Your people weren't comfortable because of me. I gave no sign about how I felt about it so you had to side with them."

"You're that kid I..." Virgil's eyes darkened as Roman just stood there in shook. "Wait... You're the one that I..." Roman didn't know how to handle it. He felt so horrible. Memories flashed through his head of all his interactions with that kid and it all just fell apart. How did he not realize?! The white hair... the purple... the lack of expression. Roman was losing his mind. He should have seen it. It should have clicked. It should've...

"Is everything ok, Princey?" Roman snapped.

"I literally arrested you." Virgil cringed inwardly as Roman's voice broke. "I arrested you because the shop owner was adamant that you stole from him and you didn't... Why didn't you..." Virgil just shrugged.
