"HOW the hell did you break free?!" jungkook exclaims, shaking in his seat. his eyes pop out of their sockets as they throw daggers at jin from across the room.

"seriously?" jimin scoffs, crossing his arms together. "hoseok and i obviously set him free."

while jungkook argues with the rest, jin remains silent. his eyes are fixated on me, our eyes locked on one another.

i stare at him with a longing, yet hesitant gaze. the man in front of me now is very different from the one i was dating three months ago. jin's figure is much thinner, his hair is longer, and there are dark circles underneath his eyes. he looks exhausted. i feel my eyes water at the sight. i feel the urge to run over and wrap my arms around him. to make him feel safe.

but i don't.

my feet remain in their place. it's as if i can't move. and neither can he. the shock of seeing each other again after so much time has ridden us immobile. so many old emotions are resurfacing all at once.

"jimin, hoseok, and namjoon: please take jungkook away," taehyung orders. there's a hint of a relieved smile on his face as he wistfully stares at his older brother.

he must be so happy to see jin safe and sound.

"you can't do this to me, taehyung! this will not be the end of the cyphers!" jungkook erupts, jolting in his chair as the boys approach him.

"aw, pity," taehyung remarks with a pout. "but it is the end. you're done, jungkook."

"fuck you, taehyung! and fuck you, jin and your little girlfriend!" jungkook curses as the boys lift him up into the air in his chair and out of the room.

"i'm really glad to see you again, jin," yoongi smiles at jin, giving him a shy wave.

"it's really good to see you too, yoongi," jin replies, flashing him a small smile.

"i'm glad you're safe, jin," taehyung states, trying his best to maintain his composure.

"well, i'm really glad your plan worked," jin chuckles, earning laughs from all of us. "it was really meticulously planned, what with planting jimin and hoseok in the enemy's base and taking them down from within... perhaps you should've been the leader of the organization instead of me."

"you were a great leader, jin. you really took a bullet for the team. but we're done with the mafia. we're finally going to live our lives as normal human beings," taehyung beams.

"what will you do with jungkook?" jin asks.

"don't worry, we'll take care of that," taehyung smirks, his usual charm returning.

suddenly, taehyung wraps his arms around jin. the brothers share a moment in silence as they hug, both with content looks on their faces.

the kim brothers are back.

"um, i'll give you two some space now," taehyung clears his throat as he parts away from the hug. both him and yoongi leave.

jin weakly smiles at me, and i can't help but return the gesture. i finally make up the courage to slowly approach him, attempting to not let any tears stream down my face.

"hi," i greet, my words coming out in the form of a whisper. my voice wavers once i'm staring at him from up close.

"hi," jin softly replies.

"i can't believe you're actually alive," i breathe out, almost choking on my own words.

"i'm so sorry, hana," jin quickly apologizes, his eyes welling up with tears. "i should've been honest with you from the start. that would've avoided you getting involved in all of this and from getting hurt. i was a liar and selfish. and then you had to suffer my 'death' and join the mafia, which is so messed up. you deserved better. you deserve better."

my attempt at not crying fails miserably. tears fall down my face at a fast speed, creating small puddles on the cement floor. as my heart begins to beat quickly and my stomach fills up with butterflies, i close the gap between jin and i with a tight hug.

jin immediately wraps his arms around me, resting chin on the top of my head which is resting against his chest. i feel warm and comforted in his embrace. i feel safe. i can hear his steady heartbeat as i close my eyes, smiling to myself.

"it's okay, jin," i mutter. "i understand why you didn't tell me, even though it does hurt. but the fact that you risked your life for me is so-"

"hot?" jin remarks, smirking as he looks down at me.

that's the confident jin i know.

"i was going to say incredible, but that works too."

jin laughs at my comment. it is now that i hear it that i realize how much i've missed it. it's like music to my ears; i could listen to it forever.

i look up at him with a hopeful gaze. my eyes meet jin's dark ones, which are soft and round. i melt under their gaze. jin gives me his usual small smile, his cheeks puffing up as he does so. i suddenly feel his hand caressing the back of my head as we stare into each other's eyes.

"start over?" i suddenly ask, breaking the silence between us. i take a deep breath as i await his answer. jin's eyes crinkle slightly as he smiles down at me.

"start over."

i let out a sigh of relief. it is now that i notice the limited amount of space between us. it makes me wonder what's about to happen.

jin's face approaches mine, lessening the gap between us. he chuckles slightly, i can feel his breathe on my skin.

kim seokjin: once a tease, always a tease.

in the heat of the moment, i decide to make the first time move myself. after three months of downright tragedies, i close the small space between us, pressing my lips against jin's. his eyes flutter shut as his lips follow the movement of my own. jin's hands soon grab my waist, pressing me against him as we kiss.

i missed this. i missed us.

i decide to pull away first, my lips still tingling. a soft laugh escapes my lips as i stare at jin's giddy expression. his lips are slightly parted.

"guess we're going back to cornelia street."
