Chapter 5: Travis Has Nothing To Do With This

Charles P.O.V.:

Ugh. My head hurts. The last thing I remember was getting knocked out by that thug and- Oh no! Young Miss!!!! I open my eyes and sluggishly get up.

"W-where's the Young Miss?" I ask.

"Shh, shh, shh. Sir Charles, please rest. Captain Elizabeth and the others are searching for Travis to rescue Young Opal." Nancy informs me.

What? Travis? He wasn't there. He has nothing to do with the Young Missus kidnapping.

"What are you talking about? Travis wasn't there. He didn't kidnap the Young Miss." I correct Nancy.

"Wait, what?! But, when Captain Elizabet and the rest of our group and I made it there, he was the only other person there at the scene of the kidnapping." Nancy explains her side of the story.

"Oh, you must have made it there too late. You see, during the Young Missus kidnapping, there were two thugs. A giant and a shorter skinner guy. I believe their names are Harold and Kyle. Those were the two criminals who kidnapped the Young Miss." I explain what happened to Nancy, looking at her straight in her eyes.

"Really?!" Nancy exclaim. "Then, we're going after the wrong guy! When we made it to the scene, we only saw Travis there, and when we were about to go after him, he ran away with Rookie William. We assumed he beat the both of you up and taken Young Opal away."

"Oh, no. We have to go and inform Elizabeth this right away!" I exclaim. I get off of the bed.

"Wait! You're too injured to go." Nancy tries to block me out of the infirmary.

"It's just a scratch; I'm fine." I say, pushing Nancy out of the way.

I run out of the castle and head to Hollow Street. Nancy chased after me.

Travis P.O.V.:

"And you, Travis, will let go of Rookie William and go to prison." Elizabeth says in a scary tone.

"W-what?! For what? I didn't do anything bad." I defend myself.

"Oh? And why do you have Rookie William tied up then?" Elizabeth questions me.

"You weren't kidding when you said you get dragged into crimes you didn't take part in." William says. He turns to Elizabeth. "Captain Elizabeth, there seems to be a misunderstanding. You see, Travis here is actually helping me rescue the Young Miss." He defends me, raising his hands up in the air.

"...With you being tied up?" Elizabeth asks, not believing William.

"Oh, this was just for acting. The rope isn't even that tight. I can easily break free from it." William removes the rope. "See?"

"Hmm... A criminal wouldn't do that if they wanted to keep a hostage with them." Elizabeth muses. "But I can't let him get away that easily. He was still at the scene of the kidnapping, so he needs to be questioned."

Elizabeth grabs my wrist and brings me to her. She grabs handcuffs out of her belt and handcuffs me with her.

"You'll be staying with me, until you can prove your innocence." Elizabeth bluntly says.

"B-but, I didn't do anything! I want to rescue Princess Opal!!!" I plead.

"He's telling the truth!!!" William defends me.

"You don't have to lie to me, William. Don't let him get to you." Elizabeth tells William.

"I'm not lying. There were two guys that were kidnapping the Young Miss; a big guy and a skinner guy." William tells Elizabeth.

"Hmm.. were does your minions, Travis?!!!" Elizabeth asks me.

"No! I'm not even friends with them! I'm not friends with any criminals, I only know their names and a bit about them." I defend myself.

"Quite all this gibber gabber!" Elizabeth shouts. She turns to the side. "Gosh... I sound like my grandma." she mumbles. She turns back to me. "Just hand over the Princess!!!" She commands.

"I can't! I don't have her with me!!" I tell her.

"He's telling the truth, Elizabeth." I hear a guys voice.

The three of us turn to see the guard that was knocked down next to William.

"Charles!!! You're alright!!!" William cheers with joy. He runs over to hug him.

"Good to see you too, partner." Charles awkwardly pats his back. William let's go of Charles.

Elizabeth and I walk over to him.

"What do you mean, Charles?" Elizabeth asks him.

"Exactly what I mean. Travis wasn't there when we were trying to protect the Young Miss. It was a big guy named Harold, and his skinner partner, Kyle. Travis has nothing to do with the kidnapping of the Young Miss." Charles explains.

"B-but, what about him taking William away with him?" Elizabeth asks.

"He wanted my help to rescue the Young Miss." William answers.

"But why? He's a criminal!" Elizabeth questions.

"Um... That's a secret." William answers.

"Yes. You guys will just laugh." I say.

"Really now?" Elizabeth raises an eyebrow.

"Yes! You two are going to laugh!!" I shout.

"Pfftt... I laughed when he told me." William snickers.

"Ok. Now I need to know!" Charles exclaim.

"Charles!! Please wait!!" screamed a girl.

"Nancy always comes around when something juicy is going to be spilled." Elizabeth sighs.

Nancy?

Nancy runs into the alley we're in and catches her breath.

"Gasp. Gasp. I'm sorry Captain Elizabeth....gasp...Sir Charles just ran away to tell you that... Travis has nothing to do with Princess Opal." Nancy explains out of breath.

Hmm... Oh! She's that guard that was with Elizabeth!

"So, he is telling the truth." Elizabeth finally approves my innocence. She looks at me. "I'll only let you go once you tell me why you want to rescue Princess Opal."

"Wait. He wants to rescue her? But isn't he a- .You know what? The more the merrier." Nancy commented.

"Sigh. FIIINNNEEE!!!! I'll tell you." I reluctantly agree.

Every one came closer to me to hear my reason. William can barely hold in his laughter.

"I." I start. Everyone is closer. "Love Princess Opal." I finish quickly.

The four of them laugh.

"Hey! Stop laughing!!!" I pout blushing.

They slowly stop laughing.

"Before you came here, Elizabeth, I gained information of Princess Opal's whereabouts." I announce.

Everyone is serious.
