"Ok, Luke, Elayna. Tell me about your song." The teacher said.

Luke put the lyrics to the song on the projector. "So, our song is called Lonely."

"It's about a girl who's always trying to please other people and it makes her miserable."

"You mind giving us an acapella sample? is it a solo or duet?"

"Solo," Luke said.

I cleared my throat and looked up at the screen. "I'm slowly killing myself. I'm trying so hard at the back of the shelf. It's just the same every day. I'm writing these songs that will never get played. I get told what's wrong and what's right. I don't have a romantic life. And everyone's dying, so I keep on trying to make 'em proud before they are gone."

I took a deep breath before I started the chorus. "But can't someone help me? Oh, please, someone help me. I don't care, anyone, anything 'cause I'm so sick of being so lonely. Miss all my family. I don't care, anyone, anything 'cause I'm so sick of being so lonely."

The rest of the class clapped. "Thank you, that was great. You can sit now."

Luke and I went back to our seats.

"Ok, next is Calum and Felicite,"

After our friends were done presenting their song, they went back to their seats.

"Ok, all of your songs were great. Time for the next part of the project."

"There's a second part?" Luke whispered to me.

I shrugged.

"So I am going to pick a random song and assign it to one of you to produce. We'll be collaborating with the students in the musical instruments classes. You must include at least two students from the instrument classes so there should be at least 4 students in your group. You can choose from the string instrument classes, wind instruments, percussion, and keyboard. Unfortunately, the brass instrument class is doing their own project. You guys have about 3 weeks to finish this project and then you and your team are going to play the song live at the showcase next month on the 7th."

Luke raised his hand.

"Yes?" The teacher said, pointing over to him.

"Would I be able to play an instrument since I'm in a strings class?"

"Yes, you can count as the 3rd, only if the song you're assigned is a solo. If it's a duet, you're required to sing. If you want to play, you can but you'll still have to include 2 other students."

"Ok," Luke replied.

"Ok, Jeremie and Devin, come get your new song. Oh, one more thing. You guys won't know who has your song so don't tell them."

Luke went to get the lyrics to our song when we were called. He came back and showed my the paper.

I quickly read the lyrics to the song named 'Good Cry' that someone named Nolan and Kaleb wrote. The song was really good, which surprised me cause neither of them seemed that into this class.

"I wonder who got our song," Luke said.

- 7:14 pm

"Miles is out with you, right? I don't want you out alone." I asked Peter, setting my phone on the desk.

"Yeah, Layn, calm down." He said through the speaker. "Why couldn't you come out?"

"Just personal stuff,"

"You always bail for a week, every month, and you never tell me why."

"Trust me, Pete, you don't want to know."

He went silent.

"You're pouting, aren't you?"

"No..."

"Stop it,"

He sighed. "You know, I might think you were a superhero cause you always go missing."

I rolled my eyes. "It's just a week, Pete."

"You can go to school but you can't go out with me?"

I blushed.

"I-I mean like, out of patrol."

"Not this week,"

"Fine,"

"I have to go,"

"Ok, I'll talk to you later."

"Bye, Pete."

I hung up the phone and went out of my room, to the bathroom. I opened the cabinet and looked for some ibuprofen.

I didn't see the bottle anywhere.

We must be out.

I went back to my room and grabbed my phone. I texted my mom and asked her to pick up some on her way home.

- 9:47 pm

I sat up when I heard a knock on my window. I went over and moved the curtain, I saw Peter holding a bag. I unlocked the window and let him in.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as he climbed in.

"I talked to May about why you always disappear for a week and realized I am very dumb."

I laughed.

"So I thought I'd bring you this," He held up the bag.

"What is it?"

He went over to my bed and emptied the bag.

I saw a box of tampons, chocolate, a couple of bags of chips, a bunch of my favorite candies, a box of cookies, a bottle of Dr. Pepper and Coke, a movie, and a bottle of ibuprofen.

"Oh, my god." I picked up the bottle of ibuprofen. "You're amazing, Peter."

I set the bottle down and went over to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

When I let go, I saw him blushing.

"I, um, didn't know what kind of... things to get so I just got the one's May recommended."

"Thank you, so much."

Peter picked up the movie. "I knew you've been wanting to see this a lot." He held the new Maleficent movie in his hand.

- Wednesday, January 22nd - 12:03 am

I was almost asleep when I felt the bed move. I reached over and grabbed Peter's arm.

"Stay, please," I mumbled.

Peter laid down next to me and pulled the blanket over me.

"Peter?"

"Yeah?"

"I like you,"

He was silent for a second. "I like you, too."
