The New Spider-Woman (Book 1)

It took Luke and I a few days to decide who we wanted in the project but eventually, we decided on Michael to play guitar, Ashton to drum and Josh to play bass. 

Calum was a little upset cause we got our friends in our project cause he wanted them for his and Felicite's song. 

Luke and I had told them how we wanted the song to sound. We were working off the sample that Kaleb sang. 

It was a solo and Luke thought that I should sing. 

Michael and Josh played a short riff together. 

"I really like that," Luke said once they finished. 

"Ash, what do you think we should do for drums?" 

Ashton played a beat on the drum machine the teacher let us use. 

"That's good," I told him. "Great, let's put those together." 

We stayed in the auditorium for about an hour before the janitor told us we had to lead. 

"Are you ever gonna tell them?' Luke whispered as we gathered our things. 

"Tell them what?" 

"That you're... Spider-Woman." 

I shrugged. "I don't know. It's just more of a risk that everyone finds out and they'd be in danger."

"They're your best friends, they aren't going to tell anyone. Besides, I'm the worst at keeping secrets and I've kept it."

I rolled my eyes. 

"Come on, please. I don't want to be the only one who knows, it's killing me." 

"I'll ask the others. It's up to them." 

"Speaking of, can I know who they are?"

"No,"

Luke groaned. 

"Hey, do you guys need a ride?" Ash asked us. 

"Uh, yeah," I spoke. 

"Luke?" 

"Yeah." 

A minute later, Ash, Michael, Luke, and I were in Ash's car. 

"So what are you guys doing this weekend?" Michael asked. 

"Work," Ashton responded. 

"I have a ton of homework, it sucks," Luke said. 

Michael nodded. "Yeah, me too. What about you, Layn?" 

"Going out of town?" 

"Yeah? Where?" 

"Someplace along the Hudson River,"

"Why?" Ashton asked.

"Job opportunity," 

Luke looked at me. "For what?"

"Internship with Tony Stark," 

Luke's eyes widened. 

"Doesn't your friend from Queens have an internship, too?" 

"Yeah, he took me to meet him a couple of weeks and he said he wanted me to come back for an interview or something like that."

"That's cool," Luke said.

Once the bodysuit was on, I pulled the mask and hood over my head.

I picked up the little manual Mr. Stark gave me and read the first instruction.
