She would not see him for many more days after that incident. She puzzled him. What an incredibly unremarkable girl. Aside from being a strange cat alien type creature absolutely nothing was special about her. So why on earth would Ren claim she was? Surely even Ren had other things to worry about? And how he even found her as he had? He was sure if he asked he wouldn't even tell him.

Hux remained bothered by this for days. Always at the back of his mind he wondered with suspicion if this was all some joke or much larger ploe. But nothing from the girl ever came to mind. Why would she even interest Ren at all? Thinking over Ren's mindset he supposed he was immature and emotional. And she was a rather innocent and pretty thing. From a certain point of view.

Perhaps Ren wanted an excuse to keep it around?

Hux tutted to himself trying to keep the thoughts away as they were distracting. Who cared for the trivial emotions of these young people. He'd never in life had such a luxury.

The days passed and through his usual short nights of few hours sleep he dreamt of the usual. Nothing. Maybe a short burst of a past explosion or a field he'd seen in a poster once. His mother talking without sense. And a strange scent that he almost couldn't place with a feel of something warm. They were short strange dreams that were forgotten as soon as he woke. But he almost never dreamed at all so when he woke he'd find himself pausing a moment before letting it go and getting up for the day.

One day she woke up after yet another nightmare. All she could see was that General murdering the trooper as she watched unable to do a thing. It was her fault he was dead. Maybe....it was better that way? It was a horrible thought but something told her he wasn't existing happily anyways. Wiping away the tears she had cried during her sleep she sniffed and sighed. In the corner of her eye a white flat box caught her eye.

Immediately sitting up fully she audibly gasped in surprise. Something else in the room beyond food trays stood out greatly. Almost in shock she didn't move as if scared it was some kind of trick. Shaking her head she felt she wasn't dreaming and quickly got out of bed walking up to the box. It was white and made of cardboard. Plain but clean and fresh.

Chest lifting with excitement she savored the curious feeling as she lifted the lid off. Her face fell in awe as she saw the contents immediately filled with wonder. A red dress made with soft flowy material sat in the box folded neatly. Slowly reaching to touch it she was amazed at how soft it was. Carefully taking it from the box by the shoulders and lifted it.

The fabric spilled down and fluttered against her legs. Eyes wide she took it in and all she could think was 'why?'

It made no sense. But nothing in this place did. Letting her hand run over it sh e marvelled at it before grinning to herself and quickly carrying it to the bed. Pulling off the maids dress she let the red one fall over her frame. Akin to an incredibly elegant night slip that ended above her knees and crossed over her chest in a low V. There was no zipper. She twirled loving how soft it felt against her skin and fell into bed happy for a moment.

Back on the bridge to Hux's annoyance Ren had returned and discussed business.

"How's the girl?" Ren asked seriously.

"Unremarkable. Why must we waste resources on this?"

Hux said very quickly remembering the lost trooper and how much trouble that was for him.

"As I said General. She's a pawn. We can use her as a bargaining chip."

That still didn't answer anything and Hux knew he wouldn't get an answer. Whatever foolish plan the boy had he wouldn't tell him.

"Is she well?"

Hux was a little surprised that he cared to even ask. But it was afterall just toying with him.

"Healthy and fed sir."

He said assuredly but Ren cut in almost immediately.

"I heard she was injured."

Hux tensed casting his gaze away having hoped he hadn't known.

"Faulty trooper. Sir. It wasn't hurt badly."

Ren looked to him questioningly clearly enjoying his hold over him.

"It? General?"

Hux inwardly rolled his eyes and took a moment to speak desperately wishing to shoot them both and be done with it all.

"She- is well. Unharmed."

Ren mused to himself as if he suddenly had sympathy that was surely fake.

"A girl like that must get lonely. See to it she doesn't go insane. Our bargaining chip must be useable."

Ren left and Hux had no idea what he meant. Was he supposed to entertain her now? How droll. Surely they could find something or other. This stupid pet of his was a waste of time.
