Chapter 18

We stood out on the grand balcony and when I say grand I mean humongous. The local news had put up their cameras and microphones along with some other lands news shows. Dad stood in the middle at the podium and on his right side stood Uncle Sam, mom, Clarissa, Chris, Jacob and lastly I, while on his left side stood King Victor, Queen Rose and Eric. He looked more presentable now when his hair was done and a suit was put on him, but people doesn't see the monster underneath.
Guards were put out all around us and my guards were close by.
I shivered at the bare thought about him.

"You okay?" Jacob looked down at me and I nodded.

"Okay, we are going live in 3, 2, 1, Live!" the cameraman shouted.

"Good evening, inhibitors of Starland and many other lands. Tonight we have an important announcement to make. As many of you may know is Princess Alishia of Starland is engaged to Prince Eric of Moonland, but due recent events and a meeting with the elders, we have decided to let the royal children marry who ever they want and that the marriage between Princess Alishia and Prince Eric is not going to take place"

I looked over at Eric and he was furious. Anxiety. Is he going to do anything? What is he going to do? Will he kill me? Or even worse, will he kill Jacob? Will he get revenge? What will he do as revenge? When-

"Baby, are you alright? Calm down" he hugged me and stroke my back which began to calm me down.

"No, Eri-" it was Rose.

I opened my eyes just in time to see Eric running at us with something in his hand. I was petrified with fear as I realized what it was. A knife. Jacob heard what Rose said and turned around just before it was too late.
Eric had the knife pulled back and is going to hurt us any second.

"Watch out!" one of my guards stood in front of us just as Eric launched forward.

I saw how Marcus got the knife straight through his hand, blood poured out of his hand. Marcus fought off Eric and my other guards came to rescue.
I was totally terrified. I sunk down onto my knees beside Marcus sat on the ground.

"A-are you okay?" It seemed as a stupid question but it was the only thing I could think of to say.

"I'm fine, Al" without a second thought he pulled out the knife of his hand.

"Be careful, you could get blood on your dress" he used his non-bloody hand to push my dress out of the way.

"Screw the dress, you could have died!" I felt tears began to weal up, I could have lost him.

"If I died protecting you I would not have gone in vain, it's my job to protect you and I would happily take a shot, or in this case an knife, for you if it was to keep you safe" a tear fell down my cheek and he wiped it away.

He took off his blazer and teared off a sleeve and wrapped it around his wounded hand to stop the bleeding.He used the other sleeve to wipe the rest of the blood around his hand.

"Come here" he gestured for me to come closer.

I crawled closer to him and hugged him.
Marcus have always been the one who doesn't talk that much but has always seems to understand me.

"Come on, bro, let's get you to the nurse" Ned offered his hand.

"Will you be okay?" Jacob crouched down beside me as Marcus stood up with the help of Ned.

"I will be just fine, Al, don't worry, be happy, you can now be with your lover boy forever" he winked at us before he and Ned left for the nurse.

Jacob took out my handkerchief and dabbed away my tears.

"Look up, baby" I did as he said.

He continued to dabb away my tears as my mom and dad approached us.

"Are you two okay?" My mom asked us.

"We're FINE!! We didn't get hurt it was MARCUS who got hurt"

"We're sorry, sweetheart, but were going to file a report on him for the things that he has done"

"Hmm" Jacob stood up and so did I.

The cameramen and reporters were collected their things Jacob brought me to the side.

"I need to talk to you"

"What is it?" I was worried about what he wanted to talk to me about.

What if he wants to break up? Have I done something wrong?

"Is there something between you and your guard Marcus?" he seemed a little bit nervous.

Wait. Is he jealous?

"Might my little boyfriend be a little jealous?"

"No, I just want to make sure I don't lose you, it would be hell to lose you" I smiled at what he said.

"I promise you no guy will ever be able to take your place. Ever" I cupped his face in my hands and gently kissed him before pulling away.

"Marcus and the others are more like my brothers, kissing them would be a nightmare. I would never like to do the things I do with you with anyone else" I kissed him one more time now for a little longer now and he brought his hands around my waist, pulling me closer.

We pulled away when a flash went off and we both snapped our heads towards the source. It was a reporter with a camera around its neck and a notebook, pen and a microphone in her left hand.

"Your Royal Highness Alishia, could I get an interview with you and your new lover about the new announcement?" she ran up to us really close in a hunt for new information.

She was a little to close for my personal preference and way to close to Jacob.

"Hey, back off" was what I was just about to say but Jacob said it before me.

"We have no further comments on the subject" I took Jacob's hand and was about to leave with him when the reporter took a hold of his other hand.

"Hands off, you parasite to reporter, he's taken" I took of her hand from Jacob's and walked away with him.

"No one touches what's mine without noticing" 

"I'm not the only one who is jealous" he chuckled.

I didn't answer, I just continued walking.
