It's the day before Lucius Malfoy gets the kiss. Hermione was pacing around the common room in front of the fireplace with Ginny sitting on the couch. Draco was at quidditch practice. Hermione grew more anxious by the second and anything Ginny said either didn't help or made things worse.
"Calm down, Mione," She spoke.
"I can't calm down! I have to meet him tomorrow, and-and what if Draco gets angry or upset and I don't know how to make him feel better," Hermione ranted.
"Oh trust me, I think you'll be able to figure out a way to make him feel better," Ginny smirked making Hermione throw a glare at her in the middle of pacing.
"Ugh! Why does it have to be now? With N.E.W.T.s so close. I barely studied between Draco, the baby, Tweetle Dumb and Tweetle Dumber, and the Prophet. Now this? What happened to a normal year?" Hermione spoke.
"Hermione, why don't you just take a shower, and by the time Draco gets back you'll feel much better," Ginny suggested.
"You're right. I'll just take a shower," Hermione spoke calmly as she walked into the bathroom. Ginny left when she heard the water turn on. As she was walking out of the portrait hole, she ran into Draco.
"Sorry," She mumbled.
"It's alright. How is she doing?" He asked without a breath.
"She's going mad. I tried to calm her down the best I could, but she's really freaking out," Ginny said truthfully.
"Great," Draco mumbled before covering his face with his hands. "I'm the worst boyfriend ever, aren't I? I'll just tell her not to go."
"No, she wants to go. She won't let you talk her out of it, believe me, I tried. She's not worried about what will happen between him and her... she worried about what might happen between him and you. She doesn't want you to get hurt or get so emotionally out of control she can't comfort you or if he'll say something that'll make you hate her again," Ginny explained. "At the end of the day, losing you is her biggest fear. She's already lost so much, hasn't she? She lost her two closest best friends, she lost her parents, and even her ugly cat. She doesn't want to lose you too." Draco let out a sigh.
"What do I do?" He asked.
"Reassure her that you'll never leave her and see through to it," She said simply. "Good night." She walked down the corridors to the Gryffindor Common Room. Draco walked into his and Hermiones common room and heard the water running. He smirked to himself as he walked into the bathroom and undressed. He stepped into the shower behind her and wrapped his arms around her.
"Hey," He hummed.
"Hi," She said back.
"I ran into Ginny," He started. "She told me you were nervous about losing me tomorrow, that true?"
"Well, not just losing you. I'm nervous about everything," Hermione spoke.
"But mostly losing me," He said with a grin plastered on his face.
"Shut up," She huffed.
"I love you, Hermione. I always have and I always will. Don't you ever forget that," He whispered in her ear. Hermione smiled and leaned her head back.
"I love you too," She spoke.
"There is nothing for you to worry about. After tomorrow our lives will go back to normal," He said. She nodded and sighed.
They finished their shower and got ready for bed. After brushing his teeth, Draco waited in his bed for Hermione, who was still getting ready. After five minutes he got up and walked into the bathroom to see her standing in only her underwear. She was looking at herself curiously in the mirror as she held her hands on her stomach. "Mione, what's wrong? Come to bed," Draco insisted.
