Sure enough, my curiosity took over me and I decided I would meet with the mystery boy in the schoolyard. Also because I had a hunch if I didn't, I would actually end up being murdered. The entire way to school I couldn't help but fidget, thinking I was in trouble or worse. "Are you okay? You look anxious about something." Jennie asks worriedly, Jisoo peeking from beside her with a puzzled look on her face.I let out a long sigh. Figuring there's no use lying to them, I told them everything that happened the previous night. I pursed my lips nervously as my friends exchanged knowing glances between each other and giggled at the sight of my discomposed appearance.
"Rosie, there's a small chance it might not be—but I'm almost positive that it's a confession." Jisoo exclaimed, beaming excitedly as she brushed my hair out of my face. "Come on guys, be serious... there's no way. Unless you mean a church confession." I shrug off their suspicions and end up more anxious than I was at the beginning.
"Haha, very funny, church girl." Jennie let out a sarcastic laugh. "You'll just have to see for yourself then." Jisoo smirked as she took a bite of the chicken nugget in her hand.
"Who eats chicken for breakfast?"
"Me, duh." She rolls her eyes dramatically and takes another bite.
"Jisoo and I were planning on getting ice-cream after school, care to join us?" Jennie asks, casually locking arms with me. The other side was currently occupied by Jisoo. "Can't. I have to see my grandma." I lamented, slumping my shoulders a little.
I loved seeing my grandma, but sometimes her condition just really brought me down.
"How about before you visit her then?" She suggested, and I turned to see Jisoo giving me the same puppy-eyed look she always did. It would be nice to spend some quality time with my friends before spending a night in the hospital.
"You know we're here for you, right?" Jisoo reassured, holding more firmly onto my arm. "And I don't live too far," Jennie says as she pulls me in closer.
"I love you guys." I gushed, feeling a little better. My nerves eased as we entered the school, smiling like we could take on the world.
With these girls by my side, I can conquer anything.

Except... a certain someone.
Just as it seemed Lisa would stop bothering me, small pieces of eraser hit and bounce off of the back of my head the second I settle myself in my seat.
Luckily having enough willpower, I was able to ignore it until I assumed she ran out of eraser to spare. That's when I felt a sharp pencil poke my back, but this time I didn't yell or scream and calmly turned around.
"You could just tap me." I whispered, trying my best hide that she was bothering me behind a poker face. "What fun would that be?" She remarks before jabbing me in the back again. "I'm looking right at you, why do need to stab me?" I wanted to strangle her so badly, but I knew what my plan was by the end of the year.
"Give me a pencil." She demands as she sets her pencil down on the desk.
I look down to gesture to the pencil right in front of her. "Is there something wrong with that one?" Following my eyes, she swiftly flicks it away from her and onto the floor. "Which one?" She inquired, pretending to look around for said pencil. I rolled my eyes and handed her my last and only pencil.
Without a thank you, I spun around to face the board again; now having no way to copy down any notes. Apparently she was supposed to be helping me, but all she's doing is slowing me down.
As the teacher droned on and on about literary elements and essay-writing, I stared thoughtlessly at the wall. Listening to Lisa profusely scribble down notes behind me, I could feel my blood boil as I caught my eye onto the pencil she had flung off her desk earlier.
I spent the entire class trying to cram as much as I could into my brain, knowing I won't make it to my study session with Lisa. I still wasn't sure how I would break it to her, but knew I couldn't let her find out too late or she would end up just dragging me there anyway. Letting her know ahead of time, her frustration would water down.
For some reason, Lisa wanted her extra credit really badly and she would work harder than me on some days where I was drowsy and slept a while. But I knew she wouldn't mind as long as I kept my mouth shut that I missed out on one or two sessions. I felt a light tap on my shoulder toward the end of class, surprisingly she hadn't stuck my own pencil into my back.
"I won't be able to study with you after school. So I summarized the notes for you." She hands over her paper, and I'm shocked to see everything organized neatly into bullet points and boxes, possibly even better than the teacher's examples. "I could've taken notes on my own."
I scowled, nonetheless scanning her impressive skills of making the paper informative while neat and pretty. "I only did it to make up for my absence. Besides, you can't take notes to save your life, why do you think I took your pencil?" She started to pack just in time as the bell rang, proceeding to leave the classroom without turning back or returning my pencil.
I'm assuming she knew that if I'd written my own notes and she offered hers, I wouldn't take them.
The day rolled by painfully slowly, like a slug dragging its body across the sand, if that's even possible. I'm positive it was because I was anticipating meeting the mystery boy, and grabbing ice-cream after school. Not to mention, I no longer had to worry about finding an excuse to skip my study.
Soon enough lunch had arrived and I scurried out of the classroom the second the bell rang. My friends excitedly followed behind me, making sure to keep their distance when I entered through the gate.
"We'll be right here if they're a creep." Jisoo gives me a thumbs-up as Jennie pushes me urgently. "Now, go!"
The yard was vacant of any people. Normally this place would be crowded with students eating lunch or chatting. I guess since the freshman haven't befriended each other yet, it's empty, for now. Just as I was about to turn and leave,
"Chaeyoung?" I heard someone call out.
I whirled around and locked eyes with none other than the boy with the curly hair and beautiful crescent eyes.
"Jimin, what are you doing here?"
