sometimes, when you meet someone, it feels like the world aligned perfectly, it feels like you were meant to meet, like whomever you meet was destined to meet you.
that's how seungmin felt. he had no friends, he went to school, came home, went out, came home, slept, everyday.
but now, he spends every spare second texting or face-timing hyunjin. he was surprised at first, when hyunjin had insisted on face-time over regular calls, he claimed he wanted to see seungmin's pretty face, which obviously made seungmin embarrassed.
now it's just normal. they've been talking for a week now, officially, and seungmin has to say he's gotten a lot happier. he goes to clé less now, which is a bonus for the tourists, and he smiles more, which is a bonus for his mental health.
today was like every other, he just arrived home, making after school food while hyunjin talked about something that had happened at school.
"and then the kid just stopped, he stopped and like turned towards the other dude and like started going off on him, like about everything. apparently they were best friends because some of the things this dude was saying was insane, like how did he even know this kid had a whore mom and a crackhead dad? like that's insane, and the kid didn't even say anything, he just stared, like we were all like, oh my god who is he - he was wearing a mask so no one could recognize him - but he just sat and took it like what?"
seungmin tensed while making his sandwich, "a what?"
"what? what'd i say?" hyunjin asked in response, genuinely confused as he was talking too fast to even remember the words flying out of his mouth.
"oh, uh nothing." seungmin said, "hey, uh, hyunjin, my parents are going to be home soon, so i've gotta go, i'll call you later, yeah?"
"wait, did i say something? i'm sorry if i upset you, min."
"no, no, you didn't upset me, just my parents aren't too keen on me having friends," seungmin forced a laugh and continued, "so i'll call you when they leave again, okay?"
"yea, okay, bye min." hyunjin mumbled as seungmin hung up and continued making his sandwich.
"seungmin, honey?" called a female voice, his mother clearly.
"yes mom?" seungmin asked, turning away from his now finished sandwich to face his mother as she stumbled into the kitchen.
"you gotta go out tonight, i have an appointment in about an hour, so i need you out before then, understood?"
"yes mom." seungmin said as he grabbed his sandwich and headed up to his room to get ready for a nights worth of gambling.
