a wave of déjà vu overtook seungmin's senses as he stepped into the dark room, tables upon tables were scattered around the room, different bunches of rich men were stationed at them, causing the room to seem full and crowded. pretty girls walked from table to table trying to catch the eye of a rich male to potentially leave with.

typical. seungmin scoffed as he walked over to a table, observing the game being played there, baccarat. he never particularly enjoyed playing that, so he moved on to the next table.

a few tables later he found a table playing poker, very easy for him to win, so he waited until the next round started.

while waiting he felt eyes on him, he was never a superstitious person, but he swore he felt eyes.

he looked around and managed to make eye contact with a slightly smaller male who couldn't be much older than him, he recognized the male, he's not sure where he saw him though.

the smaller male's face lit up with what could only be excitement, as he made his way over to seungmin as fast as possible.

"s!" the male exclaimed as soon as he reached seungmin, "i have been waiting so long for you! where have you been?"

"do i know you?"

"well not technically," the male slurred, "but like last week or so you took hyunjin away from me and my friend, you know, hwang hyunjin."

"ah, you're friends with hyunjin?" seungmin asked, turning fully away from the table as his interest was peaked.

"yep! have been for about three years. i wanted to play a game with you but without min and hyunjin here i don't know how many i'll be able to do."

"tonight i'm playing for real, i don't have time to mess around with hyunjin's friends, sorry." seungmin said as he turned back to the table, examining the game that was still happening.

"c'mon s, hyunjin may be my friend but i'm fairly good at these games. i really want to play against you!" the male begged on, grabbing seungmin's arm as he pouted.

"listen, i don't want to take money from hyunjin's friends, so please just leave me be." seungmin said as he shook off the males hold.

"stop caring about him so much, he won't care if you play a few rounds with me!"

"i said no, leave me alone." seungmin glared at the male and moved to another table, hopefully to find another poker match, though he knew his luck may be thin.

"please! i won't even mention it to him!" the male continued on, following seungmin from table to table, "i'll play any game you want, just please let me play against you!"

"i said no."

"s, i won't tell a soul!"

"look, i'm here to get money and leave, catch me on another night and maybe i'll play a game with you. i'm not in the mood to deal with you." seungmin snapped, turning to face the smaller male.

"fine. i'm jisung by the way, i'm sure hyunjin's told you all about me!" the male - jisung - smiled proudly at seungmin.

"i don't recall him ever mentioning you. now give me a few hours or so and then we can talk."

and that's what jisung did. he went back into the main room and drank for a few hours, dancing and hoping around, talking to men here and there.

when seungmin deemed himself done with the night, it was around 1am, he had completely forgotten about jisung and his promise to talk after he was done.

as if routine, seungmin exited the card room and was heading towards the exit when a small body collided with his.

"s! hi, are you done now?"

"i was about to leave, but yes, i'm done" seungmin answered, turning towards jisung, slightly annoyed after his long night.

"can i walk you to wherever you're going? i think i gotta go, y'know?" jisung gave a sloppy smile while stumbling slightly trying to keep up with seungmin's pace.

"sure, i guess."

and so they walked out of clé casino and made their way down the street to the bus stop seungmin regularly took on his way home.

"s, hyunjin and minho are my best friends, you know that right?"

"sure." seungmin answered, not sparing jisung a glance as he saw the bus stop coming into view.

"i have no other friends, i think they hate me though, especially hyunjin." jisung grabbed onto seungmin's arm to keep up with him as seungmin sped up.

"why are you telling me this?" seungmin asked.

"i don't know, i have no one to talk to."

"well, i'm very sorry about that jisung, i'm sure they don't hate you. my bus is here now, so good night. get home safely." seungmin ended the conversation short and got on his bus, waving slightly at jisung and the bus drove away.

seungmin didn't mean to be rude, but he wanted to be home to sleep and he didn't want to deal with jisung's problems, he didn't even know the boy.

he just hoped jisung didn't tell hyunjin how rude he was, seungmin didn't want hyunjin to know about that side of him.
