hyunjin had never taken care of anyone before, he's an only child from a pretty well off family financially, so he always had someone to take care of him and those around him. so when seungmin was hurt, hyunjin was new to the whole caring system.

all hyunjin knew is he would not let seungmin out of his sight.

they were at hyunjin's house, sitting on his couch as hyunjin lightly traced shapes on seungmin's back. the younger boy was napping after hyunjin had reapplied his bandages - even though the nurse had just put his bandages on, hyunjin was really worried about it getting uncomfortable for the younger.

hyunjin knew his parents would be home soon, he hoped his parents would be nice to seungmin as it was obvious the younger boy was hurting, but hyunjin knew not to be that sure of his parents.

it was around 8pm when his parents got home, seungmin and him were awake and finishing up their homework from that day, both easily making jokes and casually flirting.

"hyunjin, my boy, who is this?" his father asked as he entered the living room, mr. hwang's coat still in his hand as he looked upon seungmin.

"kim seungmin, he's my friend i told you about." hyunjin answered, sending a small smile at his father.

"ah, mrs kim's boy, your mother and i are business partners." mr. hwang reached his hand out to shake seungmin's, though the young boy froze.

"oh, uh, hello." seungmin said after a beat of silence, slowly reaching up to shake hyunjin's fathers hand.

"are you staying for dinner, dear?" hyunjin's mother asked from behind mr. hwang, smiling sweetly at seungmin.

"uh, no, i have to get home like now, but thank you." seungmin declined, packing his backpack up as he smiled at hyunjin's parents.

"okay, well tell your mother i said hello." mr. hwang smiled gently at the frantic boy, looking over at his son who has a confused expression.

seungmin nodded and gave hyunjin a very quick hug before dashing out of the house, dialing his personal drivers number as he briskly walked down hyunjin's street.

hyunjin frowned as he looked at the disappearing figure from his front porch, they both planned on seungmin spending the night and walking to school together the next day, but hyunjin wasn't going to push the subject.

he remembered to message seungmin about 30 minutes after the boys departure to make sure he got home safely, which was responded with seungmin assuring him he had and wishing him a good night.
