Getting Ready To Go (Tails)

I woke up feeling quite excited. I knew that me and Lusius were going to have a lot of fun that day. We'd had it roughly planned out for at least a week, waiting for the day to come around. Our birthdays are only two days apart, so we knew we were going to celebrate together. Lusius had been waiting in our room for me, by the door.

"You awake?" he asked me when he saw my eyes open.

"Yeah," I told him. "What time is it?"

"About 7:00. Pretty normal for a late night. Happy birthday, Mi."

I got out of bed and we headed out to eat breakfast (he'd already changed into his regular clothes, I'd been too tired to change out of mine the night before, plus I'd been wearing the blue shirt/blue shorts that reminded me of Sonic and had wanted to keep them on for my birthday since I still missed Sonic a bit). Luke was waiting for us in the living room with plates of food already made for both of us (for some bizarre reason I can never remember the food we eat).

"Happy birthday, Tails," he said. "Looks like you slept well."

"I might've," I responded. "It's been a while since anyone really cared about my birthday. This... this honestly feels kinda nice."

"You two ready to go?"

Lusius responded for me. "We should be in a few minutes."

Me and Lu went back to the bathroom to brush our teeth and such, then got our shoes on once we were done.

"Now we're ready," we both said to Luke at the same time.

"It's pretty hot out..." he said. "You sure you want to wear black, Lu?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Lusius told him. "Now let's make sure we know what we're doing."

We started to go over the rough outline of the plans we had for the day.
