So, here's the thing about McKay.

He's a nice dude.

Selena could easily notice how happy Cassie was with him, and it seemed that he actually cared for her.

But, that doesn't make him more than he is; just a stupid guy.
A stupid guy, that decides to be friends with Nate Jacobs. And that just can't be good.

So yes, Selena has that gut feeling of worry, again.
But she can't help it, it was about Cassie after all, and it was simple, Nate could easily get in McKay's head and that would be it.

What can she do, though? What can she do to try and prevent Cassie from getting hurt?
She asks herself that question pretty often, most of the times finding the same answer.

Hope her friend to be okay.
So she does that every time the blonde falls in love for a different guy. The girl is free, she says to herself, you can't stop her from dating people.

It was certainly hard, and frustrating, but sometimes it felt like Cassie didn't need any help from her, and most importantly, she didn't want any help. So Selena decided to finally mind her own business and let her dear friend be free.

When she finally arrived at the party, by herself, which usually means her head filled with stupid thoughts like it does when she's alone or unoccupied, she made a quick decision.
Selena was going to have fun, and that had to include forgetting about stuff.

So she looked for Rue, and for a reason timing was perfect.

The universe aligned and let her find Rue easily, maybe because it thought it would be for the best if Selena wasn't completely in her five senses that night.
Maybe because the universe is so good it decided to let her avoid finding out, and after that overthink some situations about that night, just to postpone it. Just for a night.

She walked to the bathroom, and there was Rue, so she decided not to question her, just this one time.
Who knows if that was what the universe wanted, but also, who cares. Reality is, a lot of things happened that night, and a lot of things involved people she cares about, so if that helps decreasing it at least temporarily, so be it.

Minutes later... Hours later? Or just seconds?
Some time later, alcohol called Selena.

She heard it.
Alcohol had this deep, raspy, yet feminine kind of voice.
No, she doesn't have schizophrenia, but she does this weird thing when she's high, or bored.

She sees objects, and decides if they're cool enough for them to have a voice, and alcohol was definitely cool enough. So she stares at them if necessary, and invents a voice that fits with their personality, if they had one.

After staring at the crystal bottle for some seconds and finding a right voice, it was convenient to hear the voice calling her to drink, and she was going to, but someone did it before her.

She saw who she recognized as Kat's friend.

"Did you know alcohol has a sexy feminine voice?" Selena said to her, thinking it would be a great fact to break the ice.

The taller girl stared at her and then smiled. Selena thought about the possibility that the blonde was trying to figure out her voice, but then discarded it, after remembering she just heard her talk, and she wasn't an object.

A great idea came to her mind, she could also do it with people. But that could also lead to a big disappointment if she ever hears them talking and the voice she thought about wasn't accurate, bec-
