My parents owned a big company in Pyongyang South Korea. My dad was the head manager of the samsung company, and he made big bucks. Meaning I didn't go a night without food, I never worried if we were gonna eat the next day, and my parents never needed to borrow money from anybody. If anything people always borrowed money from us. So as long as I can remember I grew up with a silver spoon in my mouth, and my parents made sure of that. Even though my parents left early in the morning, and came back really late they made sure I had everything under the sun. They spoiled me alot. Giving me anything and everything I wanted. Of course there were times when I would be a brat, but it never got pass throwing a tantrum. I had it all. Clothes, money, expensive things, everything, but I felt so empty on the inside. Like I was just living for my stuff, I was surving and not living, and thats when I stepped into christianity. I tapped into my spritual side, and honestly my life has changed for the better, I have never been happier. So here we are now. I am an 18 year old, christian female, who just loves life to the fullest. I smile when it's neccesary, and cry when I have to. It was one of those rare days, were my parents could be to work late. So me, and both of my parents were eating at the table as a family. The maids made (ha) bacon, eggs, and pancakes, with fruit on the side. I had finished half of my food, and all I had left was small peices of bacon, and some eggs left over. I curled one hand into a fist, and placed my fist on the side of my face, and used my other hand to play with my food. "Elbows!" My dad shouted at me from across the table. I sluggishly moved my arm off the table, and continued to play with my food. "Hey honey what time do we have to be at work?" My mom asked my dad while she was still chewing on her food. My dad lifted up his wrist to expose his expensive watch to check the time. His eyes grew wide, as he stared down at it. "Right now. He and my mom scurried out the door like millions of dollars was waiting on them. But before my mom made it out the door she turned around and came towards me. She placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. I was half surprised. Of course my mom would say she loved me, but this was something I haven't gotten in a while. She let me go, and ran back to the door. "Love you sweetie!" She called out to me right before she left. It was quiet in the mansion. Not a single sound, or word was heard throughout the entire manor. I looked at the empty seats were my parents just had been, and.... a smirk appeared on my face. "I can do whatever I want." My smirk turned into an evil grin. "AMELIA!!" I slammed my hands on the table and stood up. I heard the kitchen door open, and heals slamming against the tiles. "Yes-yes my lady?" She asked her voice was soft, and shaky. "Don't worry they already left." Amelia looked at where my parents had originally been seated, and when she didn't see them there, she slouched. "Oh thank God." She sighed with relief. "So what do you want to do today?" Amelia asked while she was taking off her headband. She took down that tight bun, that was in her hair, and she ruffled it a little. "Well let's go in my room so we can beautify you a little bit more." I laughed as I wrapped my arm around the back of her neck, and she did the same.
*in my room*
I was placing curls in Amelia's hair since her hair looked like a lion's mane. "I don't get it.." Amelia started. "Why are you so nice to me?" I rolled my eyes after hearing this question for the 100th time. "I told you already, I'm not like most rich girls." I said bragging a little. "Yeah I get that, but why? Most kids who are privileged like you are..are brats, and they boss their maids around. Why aren't you like that?" I mean she wasn't wrong. "Well..." I began. "Well if I was a maid, I wouldn't want no one to mistreat me, so why would I mistreat somebody? Y'all are human too, and deserve respect. And there." I finished curling her whole head, and she looked gorgeous with the long black bouncy curls in her hair. She stared at herself in the mirror, and bounced the curls in her hand. She nodded like she was approving it for herself. She stood up from the chair, and threw her arms around me. It took me by surprise. We hug all the time, but I could tell she was being sentimental. Eventually I returned the hug. "This is why I'm not mean." I whispered in her ear, which caused her to chuckle. I smiled knowing I could put a smile on her face. She pulled me away, and started walking out of my room, and her curls bounced with every step she took. I began to clean up the mess we had made. "I will began making your lunch." I looked up to meet her eyes. She had the door open, but her head was turned around facing me. "Oh ok." I said. She softly smiled at me, and said. "You're a good person Seo Yeon, a good person." And with that she closed the door and left. I smiled sweetly to myself hearing her kind words.
