Meanwhile, while Blu and his group were facing their troubles, Linda and Tulio sat comfortably in a canoe, paddling their way to the wildlife refuge. Linda constantly worried about Blu, hence the trip they were taking to see him, or, as Linda put it, "to see the flock."

"Do you think they're ok?" Linda asked.

"Oh, I'm sure they're fine, Linda. Don't worry."

"Sorry, I can't help it. How far are we from the refuge?"

Tulio took out a map, studied it, and said, "Uh, I estimate, uh..."

"Tulio! You're saying you don't know?"

Tulio chuckled a little as he slightly grinned at her. "Yes."

Linda rolled her eyes and redirected her attention back to the front of the canoe. "You know what, nevermind. We are here. I couldn't see past a tree branch. Help me pull the canoe on shore before we fall off that waterfall."

Tulio quickly threw down his map and picked up his paddle to row the boat ashore. The canoe slowly turned aside and struck land a half mile from the edge of the waterfall.

Roberto, who had been flying routine patrol at the time, noticed the canoe upon the shore with Linda anchoring it to a tree. Still afraid of humans, Roberto nervously alerted Mimi as to their presence.

"Oh calm down, Berto. They're just coming to pay us a visit. You know, they actually have been quite a helpful asset since the logging incident."

"Do you think those... ah, I can't even say it... hu.. humans will harm us?"

"No, they won't. Eduardo told me that they helped him out of a tight spot during the battle against the loggers."

"Well, if Eddy trusts them, I might as well give it a shot. But if they make any attempts..."

The two birds flew to the canoe to greet their human friends. To show that they were welcome, and to show that they were friendly to Roberto, Mimi placed herself first on Linda's shoulder then Tulio's.

"Wow, she surely is a nice bird," Linda complemented.

Tulio began his awkward bird squawks in an attempt to communicate with them, but Linda immediately stopped him for fear of scaring off the birds. One of them, as Linda noticed, was already a bit nervous.

From the distance, Felipe came flying in fast to meet Roberto and Mimi, interrupting their welcoming.

"Roberto! Oh, am I glad I found you. You might want to come see this. I have discovered something that may be a threat to both of our tribes. Tell your human friends to come along, too. We may need their help."

Roberto and Mimi were both puzzled. As far as they knew, nothing was even close enough to them to be a threat. The loggers were driven out, and pretty much all the friendly wildlife were members of the local club. Nevertheless, Mimi grabbed Tulio's shirt collar and tugged it, indicating for them to follow as best they could.

After a tedious climb down and an astute observation of the direction the birds flew, Linda and Tulio finally reached the bottom. "Phew, that was a long climb. They must've found something," Linda stated. "You ready?"

"Ready as... I can be." Tulio was unlatching himself from his harness while trying to catch his breath. When he finished, they both followed their newfound friends into the woods.

About a mile or so outside the boundaries, Roberto, Mimi, and Felipe sat on a branch staring at a surprising sight. A new section of the forest had been destroyed, not by loggers, but by fire. Somehow, this forest fire had been put out, but nobody had a single clue how.
