Marinette watched Adrien as he stood in the courtyard casually chatting with Nino.

Alya had just advised her that the best thing to do was to talk to him, but she had no idea of what she was going to say.

She had loved him, it was true.

And she had confessed everything.

But what if she spoke to him now and he told her he loved her too?

What would happen?

She wasn't under the same circumstances as she was before.

She had Chat now, and he made her happy.

It would probably be easiest if Adrien told her he didn't feel the same way.

That way she wouldn't have to choose.

She at least hoped that whatever happened, the two of them could remain friends.

With a deep breath and a nudge from Alya, she stood up from the bench and closed the distance between herself and Adrien.

As her bluebell eyes met his bright green ones, Marinette felt a wave of familiar displeasure wash over her.

Now the two of them were only centimetres apart and she had to say something.

"C-can I talk to you, Adrien?" She stuttered.

She mentally slapped herself for stuttering again. It took a long time for her to get over that habit and she thought it was gone for good. Apparently not.

"Of course, Mari." Adrien smiled at her and the two of them walked over to some place more private.

"So about the other night..." Marinette started once they were both seated on a bench in the
furtherest part of the courtyard.

"You told me you loved me." Adrien cut her off.

"So you do remember." She said softly.

"Of course I do. How could I not?"

"I know it was a little out of nowhere and I'd completely understand if you didn't feel the same way. You don't owe me anything and the last thing I want to do is make you uncomfortable." She spoke.

Adrien chuckled lightly. "Marinette. I'm not the slightest bit uncomfortable and I am honestly honoured that you feel that way about me. You're amazing. You're kind and beautiful and talented and any man would be lucky to have you."

"But?" Marinette waited for him to let her down easy.

"But nothing." Adrien stated.

"Huh?"

"Marinette, I'd love you take you out, if you'll still have me." Adrien took her hands into his and the sensation sent chills and flutters straight into Mari's bones.

She didn't know what to say.

She was shocked.
