The school day had come to an end and the class had began to pack up their things, ready to enjoy their afternoon.

As Marinette picked up her bag and stood, she discreetly slipped her hand into her purse and gave her Kwami a little tickle.

Then the bell rang, signalling the end of the day, and she walked out the door, hearing a voice call out for her.

She panicked for a moment, then regained some calmness as she waited for her blonde classmate to catch up.

"Hey Marinette." Adrien smiled at her.

"Hey..." She said, not knowing what he wanted to talk to her about.

"So I wanted to ask your opinion on this whole Kali slash Ladybug thing." He said to her.

Marinette internally groaned, not really wanting to talk about it. "She certainly looks the part." She began to walk towards the front of the school while Adrien followed.

"But so do you." Adrien replied.

Marinette gave an awkward chuckle. "I guess I do, but..."

"But you're not Ladybug, are you?" Adrien eyed her curiously.

"N-No, of course not." Marinette lied.

"So..." Adrien went on. "Kali might not be Ladybug either?"

"Well it's like Alya said- we just have to wait and see what happens."

Adrien and Marinette stopped at the bottom of the staircase outside their school. Adrien looked over to where his car was waiting with Nathalie standing just outside the door to the backseat.

Adrien sighed. "I have to go." He said as he began to walk away, but something stopped him.

He looked back at his blue haired friend that was watching him leave.

He had to say something.

Anything.

"Hey Marinette?" He called out.

"Yes?" She squeaked.

"Do you want to hang out sometime?" He asked hopefully.

Marinette fumbled to find the right words. This was what she'd been hoping for, for a very long time. So why did she feel so confused about what she should do?

"U-um, I'll let you know. I have a lot going on in the next couple weeks. I'm entering in a fashion designing competition, so any free time I get will be dedicated to that." Marinette explained.

"Wow, really?" Adrien smiled. "Maybe we can hang out some other time then. Good luck on the competition, Marinette. I know you're going to do great. You have so much talent, I can't see you not winning."

"Thanks Adrien." Marinette blushed a little, not expecting the compliment.

"Well, I better get going. Nathalie doesn't like to be kept waiting." Marinette gave Adrien a wave goodbye and watched him walk away from her, get into the car and drive off.

She stood in her place for a moment, deep in thought.

"Did I do the right thing Tikki?" Marinette asked her Kwami.
