"GOOD MORNING ALVAREZ FAMILY" I say as I walk into their apartment, already dressed and ready to go to school.
"How many cups of coffee have you had y/n" Penelope says as she looks at me from where she is standing in the kitchen.
"2 and counting" I say and head over to grab a cup that Lydia has already prepared, until Penelope moves it away from me.
"Oh no I think that is enough caffeine for you missy" she says.
"Fineeee" I say and look around. Penelope notices this and I can see from the corner of my eye a smirk appearing on her face, she knows who i'm looking for.
"So where's-" I begin to say before she cuts me off.
"Alex is in his room, if that's who you were gonna ask for" she says and smiles.
"I could've been asking for Elena" I say and cross my arms over my chest.
"Oh no you weren't. And what's going on between you two anyways?" Penelope asks.
"I don't know why don't you ask your son. He was the one that wanted us to be more than friends but hasn't done anything about it." I say. It is true. We both had told each other how we felt and just left it at that. Just two friends who have feelings for one another and occasionally act like a couple. Totally not weird.
"Ay that papito has never been good with girls. Maybe he's been getting advice from my mom again." Penelope says.
"Oh god I hope not, last time he did he said the worst pick up line I have ever heard" I say.
"I don't know why Alex can't just-" Penelope begins to say only to stop mid sentence because Alex entered the kitchen.
"Why can't I what?" Alex says as he stands next to me and wraps his arm around my shoulder pulling me into him. Penelope and I look at each other and struggle to come up with something to say.
"Oh it's nothing" I say and look up at him. He looks down at me and stares at me for a while.
"Hm okay" he says, although his tone doesn't sound very convincing.
"You guys should start heading to school before you're late." Penelope says.
"You're right, you ready to go Alex?" I say and look at him.
"Yeah let me just go get my backpack and we can head out, i'll be back" he says and places a kiss on my forehead before he leaves to his room. I feel my cheeks start to heat up as I look towards Penelope, who's already smirking.
"Hmm, just friends right?" She says in a teasing tone.
"Yup. Just friends." I say and smile sadly at her.
Alex soon comes out of his room and we head to school. We quickly arrive since it's not that far from his place.
"So what was it that you and my mom were talking about?" He asks. My eyes widen and I think about what I should tell him.
"It is was nothing really" I say and look at him and give him a smile, hoping he will let it go. We enter the school and head to what they call a break out area, where students hang out before school starts and in between classes.
"Really, cause I thought I heard you guys talking about us." he says and smirks. I stop in my tracks and look at him.
"How much did you hear" I ask him. Hoping he didn't hear a lot.
"Enough to know that what i'm about to do, I should've done a long time ago" Alex says.
"Wait what?" I say and watch as he goes towards a table and stand on top of it. I go over to him and try to pull him down.
"Alex what the hell are you doing?" I say and keep trying to get him down, as I notice that people are starting to stare.
"You'll see" he says and winks at me.
"YOOO!" he yells out and soon every person turns to look at where we are. I hide my face in my hands and try to cover my reddening cheeks.
"I have something very important to say to y/n. Y/N, ever since the moment you came into my life you have brought so much happiness and light into my life. You make me feel like i'm the only guy in this world. And I know it was dumb of me to say we can be more than friends and then not do anything about it. But I am now. So that's why i'm here. Standing on this table in front of everyone and saying that I love you. And that I want you to be my girlfriend" Alex says, all while never looking away from me.
I look at him and smile so big it hurts.
"Of course I will you dork. Now get down so everyone can stop looking at us" I say and grab his hand. He jumps down from the table and bring his hands to my face and caresses my face. He then leans down slightly to kiss me. I kiss back immediately and when I do I hear cheering and claps break out around us. We both laugh into the kiss and break away for a sec to look around. We see our friend group practically having a party. We laugh at them and then turn to one another.
"You are absolutely crazy" I say and wrap my arms around his neck.
"Yeah I am, crazy about you though" he says and smiles at me. I laugh and pull him down for another kiss.
I can't wait to tell Penelope.
