"Charlie, don't!" Matt cried, but it was too late.
The clock I'd smashed against my leg flew through the air at lightning speed, about to bury deep into its target. The ghostly white male managed a smile.
"If it isn't infamous Charlie Rose," the male sighed, stake I'd just hurled now in his hand. How had he managed to catch it? He hadn't even seen me walk in.
"Ah, Acera did mention you weren't the biggest fan of vampires," a dark blonde male piped in, sparkling green eyes amused.
"Jesus Christ, are you insane, Charlie?" Matt accused, a brunette with hazel brown eyes waltzing over to him and placing a hand on his chest. She smirked at me.
"She's a slayer, it's only natural," a dark haired male said from the corner of the room, a glass of blood in his hand. His deep eyes travelled the length of my heaving form.
"That's no excuse. If you'd hurt my baby, I would have ripped your heart out. And I'd make sure I took my time," the fifth character told me, golden sheet of hair falling down to her hips. She put her index finger to the white haired male's chest and then kissed his lips once before he pulled her roughly against him. I had to look away, trying not to compare them to Acera and I.
"Let us introduce ourselves," the brown haired male with brooding dark eyes decided from the corner, appearing in front of me with his hand raised. "I'm Dremos. Friend of your mate's."
I slapped his hand away and was about to push him hard in the chest when he moved behind me and restrained my arms, chuckling under his breath. "I think we're going to get on tremendously."
The blonde snorted, fingers playing in the white one's hair who smiled down at her. They were totally about to have sex. "Right. Humans and vampires, sure we can work. Slayers and vampires? Urgh, no."
My fists curled. "How would you know anything, stupid bitch?"
She hissed at me. Her lover held her back, whispering in her ear.
"Well I'm Ellos. It's a pleasure," the blonde haired male remarked from the arm of the couch, green eyes still humoured and cheeks rosy. Human?
I glared.
"And I'm Katria, Dremos's younger sister. Your friend here is lovely, how does he stand you?" the brunette with light brown eyes asked innocently, playing with the buttons on Matt's shirt.
"Anyone's a friend if they're not a bloodsucker," I said coldly, trying not to get even more infuriated as Dremos lifted his glass of blood to his lips and slurped loudly right by my ear.
The blonde girl cackled. "And what is Acera to you? Do you love him? Is that why you said friend?"
"Don't be ridiculous," Matt snickered. "Love hasn't got anything to do with their relationship. He only wants two things from her: sex and blood. She only wants one thing from him; freedom. Simple."
If only it felt that simple, I thought in a sigh.
"I don't expect any of you to like me. This whole process is completely against my will," I said darkly.
"Oh, so you wish to be brought to the King of Darkness and killed?" Katria sniggered, tossing a lock of wavy brown hair over her shoulder. Her fangs bulged. "We have no issue with that."
"I don't need any help. I can look after myself," I said lethally. Katria and the blonde female laughed. I made my move.
Elbow to jaw, foot to crotch, knee to nose: Dremos was no longer standing. Katria had barely blinked by the time my fist collided with her perfectly formed face. She let out a scream as my shin smacked into Ellos the human who had just started to lift his hands to defend himself. I was about to high kick the couple into the wall when an arm snaked around my front and I was hauled away.
