"Get up," someone grumbled, giving me a harsh shake. "We're here."

I lifted a lid to find him moving around the room with a suitcase in angry movements. He was still pissed off? What had I done wrong? We were making out and then boom – he'd stormed out.

Wordlessly, I pushed myself up into a sitting position and gave a stretch, purposely taking my time. I rubbed at my eyes and then ran my hand through my hair. My eyes squeezed shut. Head rush. Bummer.

"Move your ass, I'm getting off this jet in two minutes!"

I stared at him for a second, scowling without a word. I didn't want to add gasoline to the raging fire that was Inerra.

I picked up the clothes at the end of the bed and my brows met my hairline. A light blue, strapless tight dress. Deciding not to comment, I snatched up the grey lingerie and moved from the main compartment to what I guessed was the bathroom. After changing, I shuffled to the sink and splashed my face with water, working away at the sleep in my eyelashes. I then pulled my hair up into a bun, allowing a few strands to escape over my face. My green eyes looked lost. Lost and almost vulnerable. It didn't take a genius to figure out why. I quickly worked on a set, blank expression.

When I stepped out, I was prepared to find his glare or to hear a bitter remark at how long I'd taken, but instead I found something much worse.

My eyes widened, face falling. Ouch. The lean, dark haired pureblood had his arm around the lead blonde hooker and his tongue stroking the inside of her mouth. I looked away fast enough not to realise where his other hand was. Why was he kissing her? What the hell was so special about a prostitute?

"Hey, you look lovely," someone said beside me.

I looked over to find Anna, my cheeks a little pink from the sting of jealousy. "Hi, thanks. Can we...go?"

She glanced over to Inerra and the blonde, gaze hardening a little, and then nodded. "Sure."

The metal steps led into intense heat. I squinted out to the water. Where were we? It seemed too hot to be Britain or anywhere in Europe and the noise of traffic rushing past made me think of a city.

Sydney? LA?

"Welcome to New York," she greeted with a grin.

My mouth popped open. New York! This was one of my favourite places, though I'd never been before. And now that I was here...I felt like I could move mountains or snap a steel sword in half with my bare hands.

"You been here before?" she asked lightly as we walked towards a yellow Lamborghini. Was this hers?

"I wish," I said breathlessly, eyes zoning in on the statue of liberty and then the masses of traffic and yellow cars.

Her grin spread across her face even more. "Come on. I'll take you to the apartment seeing as..." She stopped herself, aware of how I'd been affected by Inerra's actions just moments ago. "Well anyway, after I put my stuff in the apartment, we can go shopping, ok?"

Why was she being so nice to me? I tried not to give her a suspicious stare as I spoke. "I'm...a little tired."

Her smile slipped a fraction. "Oh. Alright. Maybe later? It's only ten AM. We have an entire day ahead of us."

Us. There she goes again acting like we're best friends.

"Maybe," I muttered, pretending to take great interest in the sky.
