3 | kiss the most attractive person

     "Are we there yet?" I asked Mindy.

     We're on the way to some party near the beach we decided to go to. Carla, one of the girls I play volleyball with, is hosting a party since her parents let her because it's her birthday. It's Saturday and what better way to spend it than free food and alcohol?

     "That's your 5th time asking." She replied while rolling her eyes.

     "I just wanted to chill and drink some alcohol before it gets crowded."

     She shrugged and focused on driving since she was assigned to be our chauffeur today. I looked to my right and saw Ashley smiling while shaking her head. I rolled my eyes at her and just focused on the sceneries the night gave us. Blake and Theo are already waiting for us at the party, they wanted to get a headstart before everyone came. Luke, Arin and Zarnaia are on a different car since we can't all fit in one while Ashley, Finn and I are riding with Mindy in her black Mirage.

     After a few minutes we arrived in a two-storey house near the beach. I got out of the car and we all went inside. The house is pretty large with things you usually see at parties—drinks and snacks in the kitchen, speakers in the living room with some couch scattered all over the place.

     "Shots?" Zarnaia said as she came to us.

     "Yes, please." Finn said while grinning.

     We all went to the kitchen and got vodka. Finn arranged all the shots in one line as I saw Carla walking up to us. I smiled and waved at her in which she reciprocated. We all greeted her and asked her to join us, she agreed and we all drank our shots at the same time. The vodka tasted quite bitter but good, I'd prefer drinking it than Emperador because it doesn't taste good and it's really bitter.

     "Let's go outside, there's better food and alcohol." Carla said after we drank three shots.

     We all agreed and followed her out. I put my arm around Ashley, pulling her close to me so she won't feel awkward. I urged her to come with us and I want her to enjoy. Eventhough they're just a few houses away from the beach they have a pool in their backyard. We saw Blake and Theo by the table drinking some kind of liquor.

     I said hello and immediately went to the snacks just because I saw pastry. I munched on a mini mint chocolate chip cookie and got beer from the cooler.

     "You're not having fun." I whispered to Ashley.

     "I am, just nervous." She said.

     "Why?"

     She looked at me and forced a smile, "You don't have to tell me but I'm not going to stop until you're having fun."

     She smiled genuinely, "You don't need to do that though."

     "I want to." I said then winked at her.

     She shook her head then looked away. I did the same and drank from my beer, I nudged her and gave her the beer. She took it and mumbled a thank you. Blake went back inside with Arin saying something about mingling. The music blaring inside isn't that loud from outside so I took out my phone and shuffled my playlist.

     "Let's do shots." I said to them which they all agreed.

     "Happy birthday Carla." We all shouted before drinking.

     We drank shot after shot, I don't how many shots we drank, but who's counting. I'm quite tipsy while everyone's a little bit drunk. Theo and Luke were having an intense staring contest in which we all were watching, the loser will get thrown out in the pool making the battle more intense than it already is.
