6 | your head's getting too big.

ELIANA

     Today's morning classes went absolutely good – just kidding – it went horrible. First, I was late to first period thus getting me a detention slip. Second, Blake kept on annoying me earlier at our hangout room. And last but not the least, Zarnaia didn't come to school saying something about a tooth hurting which made the first 2 periods we have together absolutely boring.

     Since I have practice after school, I had two choices; sacrifice my lunchtime or miss my practice so I chose to sacrifice lunchtime. I texted Ashley to buy me lunch which I would pay once she gets here and it would be anytime soon, I hope because I'm hungry. I got into a fight with my older sister that I forgot to eat something and she's also the reason why I was late. I don't even know what I did to make them hate me so much.

     "Hi." I looked up and smiled upon seeing Ashley.

     "Hi, thanks for bringing me lunch." I said and took the plastic bag containing a take-out from McDonald's, "You ate at McDonald's?"

     "I wanted nuggets and you texted me so I said why not go and drive-thru McDonald's. Oh, and is it okay if I eat here with you?" She said and sat in front of me after moving the chair and table.

     "It's probably okay since the teacher in charge of detention isn't here yet."

     She nodded and I opened the bag and took out our lunches. I gave her hers before opening up mine and I like what I see. Spicy chicken nuggets and a burger with a side of french fries. I tapped her hand to get her attention and gave her the ok sign. She let out a chuckle and made an ok sign too.

     "Do they know you're here with me?" I asked pertaining to our friends.

     "I ran into Arin on my way here and told her." She answered before taking a bite off of her burger

     I nodded and took a nugget into my mouth. I observed her and chuckled at the sight of her using the sundae as her dipping sauce. What a coincidence! I do the same to my fries which Theo tells me is disgusting for him. I dipped a fry in her sundae and took it into my mouth. I really don't get why Theo is disgusted with this, it tastes really good.

     "So, why are you in detention?" She asked while sipping on her drink.

     I sipped on mine before answering, "I was late for the first period and Ms.Brienne doesn't like tardiness so here I am."

     "Why were you late? You told me you don't like being late."

     "I got into a fight with my sister, don't ask why."

     She shook her head, "That probably sucked."

     "Ms.Carson? You're not supposed to be here."

     I looked up and saw Ms.Brienne looking at us. I looked back at Ashley and mouthed 'Ms.Brienne.' to her.

     "I know, Miss. I just wanted to eat with Eliana."

     "Well, you must know that this is detention so you can leave after you're done eating. I hope I won't see you here again and that goes for you too Eliana." Ms.Brienne said and gave us a small smile before walking away.

     We shook our heads and laughed quietly, "Thank God, Ms.Brienne's kind. If it was someone else we would've been scolded." I told her.

     "Yeah, that would probably suck." She says back.

     She started eating her burger while I finished the last of my nuggets. I bite into the burger and watched Ashley finish hers. I popped a fry into my mouth and took another and dipped it into my sundae since Ashley's is finished. I don't know why, but Ashley's sundae looks more delicious than mine so I dipped my fries there.
