"So this is your new room, if you need anything just ask Chae the receptionist. Your schedule will be posted in the lounge downstairs each day." He informed me.
"I feel like I've said everything now. Let me think..., oh yeah, remember to wake up really early to check whether the schedule has changed. And finally Cameron..., welcome to YG family."Wow.
I was finally here.
All the hard work and effort I had put in had actually paid off.
Who'd have known? Definitely not my dance teacher that's for sure, she claimed Stevie Wonder could dance better than I could.I dragged my suitcase behind me as I inspected my new living space.
It was completely white.
Two bunk beds took up most of the space in the room, slotted opposite each other against the cream walls. Each bunk bed was dressed with white duvet covers and matching plump white pillows. Beside them were large white office desks facing a small window, lamps, and a big set of drawers, seeming just enough to fit all of my items in.
I placed my shoes on the shoe rack and shuffled along the fluffy grey carpet to organise my stuff.
Top or bottom?
Top.
Rummaging through my suitcase I finally fished out my pyjamas and placed them on the top bunk bed to mark my territory, before flopping back onto it.
I sank back into the comfort of the memory foam mattress, thinking back to the journey that lead me to this place.
All of the years spent training with the hopes and promises of a debut only to be cut at the last moment.A painful memory came rushing back.
'But you told me that I was in the group. That I was going to be beside my friends on the Sbs stage performing.' I cried.
'I'm sorry RaeJin but we just don't think you're ready enough.' He empathised.
'Who is 'we'?'
'Me and the other chairmen. We agreed that you just need a bit more time before we showcase you to the world.' He answered.
'But why the sudden change? I've been training for so long.'
'I just don't think you will be able to handle it yet. Especially as you're so young." He patted my shoulder apologetically.
I bowed down on my knees.
'Please Mr. SooMan, I'll practice more, I promise.' I begged."I'm sorry RaeJin, there's nothing I can do about it." He smiled with pity before walking away.
As he walked away taking my sixteen year old dreams with him.
I remained in the company posting songs and covers on YouTube while my peers were promoting music as the successful group 'Girl's Generation.'
While they were collecting awards, I was collecting subscribers which wasn't too bad, but also wasn't what I had aspired to be doing.
When two years had gone by, my mum finally advised my to come back home. To come back to England, where my family was. Where she could look after me properly after practically seven years of separation.
I strongly refused and continued to fight for my ambition.
As another year rolled on by, my motivation and enthusiasm had depleted significantly. More of my friends were debuting yet I was still in the same position.
