"Go."
I sprinted with full force into the storm like water. The freezing water slapping me in the face.
I ploughed through the water like a racehorse keeping up with and even beating some of the boys.
That was until some colossal wave came out of nowhere and demolished me. The pure force of it not only washed me back out to the starting point but probably also gave me some sort of brain damage.
My body was sprawled out in the ground like a starfish.
"Shít." I muttered whilst slowly rotating my neck.
"Come on RaeJin you can do it, get back up." I could hear Ellie cheering me from the distance.
This girl. We weren't even in the same team.
I peeled myself up off the floor to start again and redeem some of my pride.
It turned out that it wasn't just me that was destroyed by that wave, everyone apart from the vending machine guy, was scattered helplessly in the ground.
If it wasn't a competition I would've taken pictures, because it was a sight to see indeed. Especially with the added wet suits.Taking in a deep breath, I dug my heels into the ground and ran towards the pool for my second attempt.
My second attempt was over as fast as it started.
Who thought it was ever a good idea to run next to a freaking pool?
I was floored to the ground just as aggressively as a bowling pin in the ISAC.
The floor that I was becoming accustomed to, greeted me with warmth in the form of shooting pains down the whole right side of my body.
The sound made when my body slapped the ground resonated off the wet tiles and echoed into my ears.
How embarrassing.
I rolled off my crippled arm and got up.
"Are you okay?" Minho paced up to me with concerned eyes.
"Yeah, I think so." I winced.
"Are you sure?" He glanced at my throbbing arm.
I nodded.
He quickly dashed off back into the water.
"Okay, bye then."I slowly followed after him, now knowing the true power of the waves.
This time I managed to avoid most of the powerful waves and eventually made it to the end of the pool, swiftly grabbing a baton that people weren't fighting over.
Too lazy to swim back, I let the waves push me back before power walking/limping over to Rosie on the surfing machine.
We were in fourth place by this point with the food thief group in first place, Sohee's team in second and Minho's team in third.
Rosie grabbed the baton and bolted to get a surfboard.
She placed the board in line with the powerful water jets and steadily mounted it.
To be fair to the child, she wasn't lying when she said she could surf because she remained unmoved while everyone else was flying off left, right and centre.
"Amazing Rosie." I gave her a thumbs up.
She returned it with a smile, letting go of the baton to show of her tiny thumb.
The black baton was blasted to the back of the machine.
"Fail." The invigilator called.
"What?" Rosie asked in confusion before tumbling into the water.
