chapter 5- the fear deep inside part one

Caleb p.o.v

The last 7 months have been absolute torture like literally, all I have felt is fear and pain yet I don't know how to escape it, it's like a dream that you can never leave but real.

I had gotten into a relationship with the slytherin jock Jason he seemed really nice when we first got together at the end of fifth year but then summer came and went, we went back to hogwarts and he was fine at first but then out of the blue he became cold towards me and would embarrass me in front of his friends, but whenever I tried talking to him about it he would make fun of me and say I was being childish.

As the month went by things start to get worst he would randomly order me around and if I refused he would hit me or push me, I didn't know why he was doing this but I had enough.

I walked into the slytherin corridor and knocked on the common room door asking to see Jason, Jason walks out and dragged me to an abandoned classroom "what do you want mutt didn't I tell you to back off for the day and stop following me like a lost pup" he sneers, I look him dead in the eye trying my best not to tear up "I wanna break up with you Jason I'm sick of the way you treat me" I say .

Jason laughed that creepy manic laugh he always did that sent fear shooting right through me "oh really" he growled glaring at me, I whimper cowering away knowing what was coming next but nods hesitantly, I was right Jason punched me square in the jaw making me fall back into a table and whimper he grabs me by the face "you can never escape me mutt you are my bitch whether you like it or not got it or do I have to knock some sense into you" he sneers, I gain some confidence and growl pushing him away taking him by surprise "no Jason I'm not having you treat me like shit it's over!" He snap and begin to walk off.

"CRUCIO!" I hear Jason shout before I drop to the ground crying out in pain my body shaking at the feel of what felt like a thousand knifes to the body, I could feel the pain get worse "stop please stop!" I cry the pain getting too much for me, Jason growls walking over he kick me in the ribs making me cough he grabs my hair tightly hitting my head against the table I whimper loudly blood dripping from my head "you dare disobey me mutt" he growled, I whimper looking down at the floor cowering away, he sneers pushing me to the ground roughly kicking me in the ribs a few more times before spitting on me "let this be your lesson you whore" he sneers before walking away.

I curl up on the floor and sob not knowing what to do, I gently lift my shirt up whimpering at the same time as I looks at the dark bruising that circled almost my entire chest I try getting up knowing I would have to go to the hospital wing but collapse onto the floor again great a broken rib just what I needed I sigh and just lay there blood still dripping from my head and onto the floor I sigh and close my eyes as I just let the unconsciousness take me hoping it would be a better place.

Althea's p.o.v

I was walking the corridor checking for any students out of bed when I see a small trail of blood seeping through the door I frown slowly walking over I kneel down looking at the blood I noticed that it lead into the old potions room I tilt my head curiously and open the door peaking inside but all I could see was a human shaped lump "Lumos" I mutter as the light from the tip of my wand Luminates the room I look around then down at the floor only to see none other than Caleb lupin-black laid on the floor unconscious.

I gasp and run over kneeling by his side I lightly shake him "Caleb wake up " no response, I look around frantically before conquering my patronus and sending it to the professors, five minutes later professor McGonagall, madam pomfrey and professor hagrid arrive, They question me on what happened and I explained how I found him before they levitated Caleb to the hospital wing.

I followed the professor's to the hospital wing but got told to stay outside while they sorted out Caleb's wounds, I paced outside the door worriedly hoping to Merlin god that caleb would be okay, soon professor McGonagall and hagrid walk out "miss potter" McGonagall says, I jump slightly not expecting them to be back so soon I look over at McGonagall sheepishly tucking my red locks behind my ear "is he okay?" I ask worriedly my eyes filled with concern.

McGonagall glances at hagrid who nods before looking back at me "mister lupin has been beaten up we don't know by who but it is really bad he has bruising all over his chest as well as a few broken ribs, a cut on his right eye and lip and it looks like the cruciatus curse was used on him he hasn't woken up yet so we have put him in what muggles call a sleeping coma to help him heal quicker I would advice that you have his friends take care of him and make sure he is safe maybe try get something out of him like who did it to him" she explains.

I cover my mouth and let a few tears fall who would do such a thing I nod "can I see him" I ask hoping she would say yes but she shakes her head "not till tomorrow dear he needs his rest" I sigh nodding and was about to go "oh miss potter" McGonagall calls, I turn around curiously "yes professor" I say tilting my head, "mister lupin is lucky you found him if you didn't find him his injuries could have been worse" I nod and give her a small smile before bidding them a goodnight and going to the gryffindor girls dorm.

I walk into the girls dorm and kick my shoes off before getting changed and flopping onto the bed with a sigh I glance up at the ceiling for the rest of the night too worried about Caleb to even fall asleep.
