They were long gone by the time their visitor came back to the apartment.

"So where to now? Any ideas?"

"Can I see... the house you grew up in?"

"What?" Zack paled at that. "Why the fuck would you want to go there?"

"I'm curious."

"Too curious. Some things are better left forgotten."

"Sorry..." They were both quiet as she drove down the highway in their latest victim's car. They had no particular destination. They never did. "You want to go revive some urban legends?"

"Huh?"

"Let's go haunt some of the country's most haunted places." He was silent for a long moment as he just stared at her. "What? You're not scared of ghosts are you?"

"Ray..." He gushed her name in awe. "That's the best fucking idea I've ever heard in my life. This is why I love you."

"We can go camping too... That creepy old schoolhouse in Hokkaido is just a couple hours away."

Creeping people out without going for the kill first was something Zack hadn't done in years and damn it felt good. Of course, it wasn't like he wasn't going to kill them eventually. It was just a blast to see the looks on people's faces when they heard doors slam and got turned around in the abandoned halls of the old schoolhouse. On one particular occasion, a couple of goofy foreigners stumbled their way into the building. People had the tendency to psyche each other out when they came to look for ghosts. These people took it to a whole different level though.

Neither of them could understand what the hell they were going on about and not only because they were speaking a different language. With an American mother, Ray spoke English pretty damn well, but even she looked clueless.

"What are they saying?"

"Something about the walls having eyes and the building being full of dead people."

"Neat."

"Oh. Shhh." She hushed him. "They heard us." They both laughed and ducked behind the old teacher's desk. She had to stifle her amused giggles as the girl spouted some more crazy nonsense about spirits and how she could feel a presence in the room.

They both burst out laughing when their visitors finally left the classroom.

"So which one do you want?"

"I think we should follow them back to their camp."

"Oh? They're camping out here?" That was pretty fucking brave considering the eerie stories people told about the woods. A haunted building was one thing, but anything could happen to some stray travelers if they lost their way in an unfamiliar country. Unfortunately for this couple, that anything just happened to be him and Ray. "Alright. Let's have some fun with them."
