There was little Storm could remember as his mind throbbed with nausea since he had passed out. His eyes had occasionally blinked open, catching small glances as the world around him. And although Storm believed he knew what he saw, his weary mind could only remember two things: Penny standing above him with her back turned towards Storm, and a silver table. The same table that Storm could recall from his earliest interrogation as an Evolver.
But honestly, Storm couldn't care less at the moment. Laying on what felt like a soft mattress, comfort was apparently not what he could feel. An empty surge was in his stomach as vertigo swayed him back and forth like a rollercoaster in the pitch-black world he could see.Storm tried to squirm around but little motion could be felt. Only his fingers seemed to be grasping just a few inches around, trying to find comfort away from the torturous pain.
A warm touch was felt on Storm's desperate hand. Delicately holding his hand, Storm felt some tension fell away and a damp rag cooling his forehead. He made out a cool glass touching his lips, a sweet liquid flowed into his mouth. Slowly, Storm's symptoms dissolved into relief with only a light numb feeling throughout his body.
Storm's mind eventually came to its full sense when he heard a loud knock and his eyes flicked open to be greeted by a brown ceiling. Still feeling drowsy, Storm tried to move but found that he could only tilt his head a bit to the side to see that he was still dressed in the same clothes as before and that Camila was sitting on the bed next to him. She was staring at him but didn't seem to realize Storm was awake.
"C-Cam..." Storm managed to mutter out to her. Camila snapped out of her daze with a surprised look.
"Storm, you're awake?" She turned around towards an open door. "Penny! Storm woke up!" The sudden sound of something clattering and footsteps from the other room rushing over startled Storm. Penny entered the room with an expressionless face. She stood by the door with her arms by her side, fists clenched. For some reason, Storm had the feeling that Penny wasn't acting the way she should be.
"How are you feeling?" Penny inquired blankly while staring at him.
"Just numb," Storm whispered back, his voice sounding hoarse. "And I can barely move."
"Here," Camila reached over by the nightstand, taking a glass of water that had been poured earlier. Storm tried sitting up but could barely manage to tilt his head a few inches as Camila poured some water in before Storm laid back down quietly and turned his head away from them to feel a cool breeze coming from an open window. Staring outside, Storm noticed the evening sun hovering within the trees and the golden sky glowing.
"What time is it?" He asked.
"Almost seven in the afternoon." Penny shrugged. "Yes, you were out for a while. Please don't act all shocked. You exerted yourself from not sleeping and running around. Nothing is surprising about that." She went to the other side of the bed and helped Storm sit up.
"The excuse is that you were up all night playing games and watching those types of videos boys all love," Penny mumbled into his ear. "And don't worry about your sisters. They're safe ad with your family right now. Anyways, play along, otherwise, I won't be so kind to you later." She hissed before heading out of the room.
Storm gawked at Penny's insult excuse but didn't say a word. Leaning slightly forward, he noticed he could move all of his limbs again and that the numbness had gone away. Storm let out a sigh of relief.
"I guess I'll be going now," Camila informed as stood up and brushed her skirt. "I was just here to check in on you. Since you're fine now, I shouldn't bother you anymore."
