"Your flower garden is getting prettier each time I visit here. You must be radiating so much energy because you're glowing just like your flowers."
I am completely empty-headed right now because I didn't get to sleep last night because of my conversation with Suzaine yesterday.
"Jane? Are you okay?" I snapped back into reality as I forgot Prince Henric is right in front of me talking nonstop and I'm not even listening.
"I'm fine. I think you need to go now, Henric. I'll just take a rest. Thank you for the visit." I stood and was about to walk away when he grabbed my wrist.
I turned around to look at him.
"I'm always here if you need someone to talk to, okay? I'll listen." he said before slowly letting go of my wrist.
I just smiled in return and went along my way.
I stopped at the couch in the living room and sat there as I massaged my forehead.
"So are you doing it or not?" I opened my eyes to see Suzaine standing right in front of me.
"What are you referring to?" I asked as I sat up straight.
"Finding my sister. My real sister."
"I will help you-"
"I'll be heading to Wales tomorrow for William's wedding on behalf of my family. I'll be back as soon as possible so the castle won't be empty without you."
"But Suzain-"
"What is it, Jane?"
I took a deep breath.
"I haven't really thought about it. I'm still-"
"Wow."
"Suzy, a lot of things have been on my mind lately and I'm still taking time to think and decide things slowly. I hope you understand." I looked up to her and waited for her response but she just remained a poker face.
"I'm disappointed but not surprised." She said as she started to walk away.
"Where are you going?"
I waited for her response but she just continued walking away until she was already out of my sight.
I released a very deep sigh.
I know Suzy isn't the very patient kind of person and she's very hard to deal with. I have to adjust myself because it may be too late for us to be in good terms already.
"Princess Jane, you have a new visitor."
Before I can respond to Helene, one of our housemaids, a familiar figure immediately made an entrance in our living room.
I smiled. "Jaciva."
I stood and made a gesture that it was okay for Helene to leave now.
I was immediately greeted by a hug from my dearest friend.
She broke loose of our hug first and shook my shoulders lightly while watching me intently in the eye.
"I was just gone for 3 months and here you are looking stressed!" she said as she comfortably sat on the couch and patted the space beside her.
"Do I really look that horrible?" I sat beside her as we faced each other.
"Well, I have to be honest. It's very clear you look so bothered... I mean with those eye bags. What is it this time? Is it Suzaine? Because I'm pretty sure it isn't about your love life."
"Yes, it's Suzaine. She told me we can still be in good terms. That there's still hope we can turn things the way it used to be."
"And what were her conditions?"
Of course, Jaciva knows Suzaine so well. The Montgomery's and Sullivan's have close family ties ever since. The Sullivan's aren't of royal blood or anything but their family is very well respected because of their status and social rank.
"She said I need to find her sister."
Jaci paused for a while before she replied.
"Reign has been long gone. Hasn't she given up already?"
Reign. Reign Imogen Montgomery. The eldest daughter of the late King and Queen Montgomery. The long lost Queen of Elvaria. I have always heard how she was such a beauty even at a very young age. I heard that tons of people admired her and looked up so much to her because she showed so many characteristics of a great queen at a very young age. That's why when the news broke that she went missing, the whole kingdom scattered and reached distant countries just to find her but failed.
I just wonder how things would've been if she didn't go missing. I would've had an older sister figure and we would have been good friends.
I smiled sincerely at my friend.
"You haven't given up as well, Jaciva."
She just blinked.
"I know you've been gone for three months because you've heard someone named Reign was speculated to be the long lost Montgomery in Cordova. How was it?"
She looked at the floor.
"It wasn't her. The woman was in her forties and looked like a witch." She laughed but I stayed serious.
"Jaciva, if you think I'm offended because you've been looking for her without informing me, I am not."
"I don't want the throne. Besides, you've been close friends with her first. Long before I came into this kingdom."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. In fact, I need you to help me."
Her right eyebrow rose.
"I want you to come with me."
"Don't tell me you'll look for her yourself? Jane, you can't leave the castle! One Montgomery shall at least stay in Elvaria!" Jaciva stood but I immediately held her hand.
"Suzaine will be here to look for the kingdom."
Jaci took a while before deciding to respond to what I just said.
"Where will we head first then?"
