Stepping into the forest nothing seemed to be off. It was quiet, too quiet.
The night was upon us, the dark clouded skies made the already scary forest even scarier. I strutted into the forest with Tanjirou by my side, our weapons in our hands.
Our walk came to a stop when we spotted another member of the demon corps crouched down behind a bush. I walked over to him placing my hand on his shoulder putting my blade away. He whipped around in a panic but calmed down when he saw my face.
"Were here for support! I am Tanjirou Kamado and this is.." he pointed to me.
"Y/N" I cut in.
"We are both rank 10." He said and I watched the other guy's face drop.
"Rank 10?! Why didn't they send a pillar!" He cried out.
When he finished his sentence I watched Inosukes hand fly to the other members face. 'He punched him..' I thought.
'Wait, he punched him?!'
"INOSUKE!" I screamed as I frantically pulled him off the boy.
"HURRY UP AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION, IM INPATIENT!" He yelled to which the other man nodded.
"After receiving orders from the crow to come here, 10 members got here!" He began.
Inosuke let him go and he dropped to the ground scrambling to sit next to Tanjirou.
"Once we got into the woods things got strange, the other demon hunters began to.." He stopped.
"Kill one another.."
After he said those words the bush to our right shook and out came another demon slayer.
He ran at Inosuke and I but we luckily dodged with ease. Jumping back I pulled out my sword which I had previously put away and began to fight the other member.
"I'm gonna chop his limbs off!" Inosuke yelled but Tanjirou interjected.
"YOU CAN'T THEY'RE STILL ALIVE!" He yelled as he fought off the other slayer who had suddenly showed up.
The person stopped fighting me and ran towards the member from the bush, who was already fighting with another. I quickly leaped into action grabbing the boy and falling back as Inosuke and Tanjirou punched the two crazed slayers in the stomach.
He thanked me and helped me up. I looked over and saw Tanjirou giving us a strange look. Confused I peered back to the members face, to which he was blushing.
I quickly pulled away and directed my attention back to the battle in front of us.
"THEY'RE CONTROLLED BY WIRES, CUT THEM!" Tanjirou screamed and I nodded slashing at the air above the member's body.
The two boys fell to the ground, but it didn't last long as more bodies rose around us. Looking around I continued to slash at the air, but they just kept coming again and again. I paused for a moment and cupped my hands to my ears, realizing there were thousands of crawling noises around us.
