I grabbed the Poke Balls with one giant swoop and placed four in my pocket. I would be needing those later.

I walked out the store with the remainder ball still in grasp. Placing down Cubone, I held out the ball in front of me, so he could get a good look at it. Sheer determination on his face. I must not fail him like I did with his mom.

Cubone nodded with a swift motion, pressing his paw to the button in the middle of the ball. He was ready for the capture.

Bohdi was eagerly watching.

That's right! He has probably never even seen someone else catch a Pokemon. This would be quite the accomplishment for me. I'll have an Eevee and this Cubone.

I'll have one of my favorite Ground-types and one of my favorite Normal-types. I hope I am collecting enough Pokemon.

I will need more in order to protect Mew and possibly Mewtwo if Team Rocket comes after me; I will also need more in order to save Red. I don't doubt my friend's powers, but I know I shouldn't overwork them.

Cubone was glowing white as the ball opened to claim him as a pet.

I placed the ball gently on the ground and waited. The result? I obviously caught Cubone. It shook once. Twice. Three times. I had officially captured my very first Pokemon.

Excitement lingered within my stomach. Now that I have Poke Balls I can search in the wild for more Pokemon and try to capture them myself.

Bohdi cheered in the background, earning an eye roll from Mewtwo who was hiding somewhere nearby, so the Poke Market didn't see him.

I wonder how he--or it--could even move through this town with how big his body is. It was impressive that's for sure.

I picked up the ball, and pressed the button in the middle. Cubone blinked up at me, bright red light flashing to show he was being released from the ball. I turned to Mewtwo. "So...what now?" I asked. Mewtwo seemingly groaned at my uncoordinated mess. We probably should get a move on. You're still pretty weak by the way. I hope you really don't expect to win any battles with just a Cubone and an Eevee.

Wow. This Pokemon wastes no time to insult anyone who isn't him, or it. "Mewtwo," I began warningly as if I could beat him with my stare. Of course I couldn't.

We're wasting time. Let's go. Mewtwo growled, floating in the air while moving around the place.

Bohdi and I exchanged glances and I shrugged. He seemed a bit tense. It was hard to tell what Mewtwo was thinking, but it was obvious he wanted to get out of here. I wonder why. Was it because we got what we came here to do? Well, I guess if it gets me closer to saving Red and...whatever else was going to happen afterwards then I guess I can deal with his hasty nature right now.

Bohdi and I casually walked around. Well, I was walking super casually. Bohdi was literally being a weirdo, walking like he was being casual, but it looked super suspicious.

We walked through the town, people giving Bohdi weird glances and I placed Cubone's Ball back in my pocket. Mew was in there too. And Eevee. I had to keep Mew hidden. For now I want Cubone to just enjoy his freedom until I absolutely needed to put him back in his Ball.

"Eh! Eeh!" Cubone whined, reaching his paws up. I suppose he wants to be carried once more. "Alright, alright. I gotcha." I soothed with a smile. I reached down and picked him up with both my hands.

This little fella really is a Ground-Type. He was just a little heavier than I originally thought. I'm not Ash you know? If I was I could probably survive anything, but it's not like I'm one of those people from the movies.

The only thing that could keep me alive would be the Force, and I don't see any Star Wars characters here, so I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with carrying this little cutie around.

I quickly rubbed his head before continuing to walk with him in my arms. People kept staring at us as we passed. I avoided the stares to the best of my ability, but I couldn't. Bohdi seemingly was watching me as well.

Perhaps he was worried, but his gaze didn't betray anything of such magnitude.

I pressed my toes on the ground, making sure they didn't steal from the town trial. I just hope Mewtwo was invisible for this. I didn't see him nearby.

There was so many people in this game. I almost ran into quite a few of them. Most were either in a hurry or on their way home from who knows what.

I would go and search for Brock because I can see the Pewter City Museum up ahead. We had already gotten this far? It looked pretty huge and kinda dusty. If I ever get an Aerodactyl Old Amber or some other redeemable fossil, then I will come back here.

I wonder if I will have to collect the gym badges. That would stink. I just want to walk around and do stuff the way I want to instead of the way others want. Unless Bohdi is gonna become an Elite Four member or champion, I don't want to stick around anywhere near Brock. Or any other gym leader. Unless it's Blaine. I like Blaine. And it's not because he's a fire type user either. He's just a really cool scientist.

I continued to walk, turning right in order to go to the next route. Before I knew it we reached the entrance to the route. I gulped. There was something more foreboding about the cutesy little route than normal.

Bohdi and I continued to stare at the route like there were zombies there or something possibly worse.

Why was I feeling this way? Isn't Pokemon about cute and fluffy monsters and not scary stuff? Why do I feel like there's something scary beyond the route? I'm just being sensitive aren't I? Yeah that must be it.

I took a step forward. Well, guess I'll find out what's to expect from this route later. It might just be Team Rocket once more. It really does feel like I'm going in circles. Didn't I start at Curlean City? I mean I did start near Mewtwo's cave thing, but after that it was Curlean city with all the stuff.

Well, either way looks like I'm about to have such an adventure I will be going in circles having fun.

Cubone reached over to my shirt and clutched me. He pulled himself closer to me, hiding his face within my shirt. Why was he so scared? It didn't add up. Well, it did. I suppose this Cubone might not have been as brave as I thought, but I would have thought he wasn't scared of a route. Unless he's scared of the people who are accounted for on this route.

I always wondered why they even bothered with trying to stay on the route. I know they're waiting for the player, but they're always there. Like they're not in control of their lives. And maybe they aren't, but it still feels weird.

My feet were rooted to that spot. Well, I still have to start my official search for Red. Dang it! Now I might have to get the Gym Leaders involved in this. Otherwise I might avoid the simple solution...but the most simplest solution would be train up and scale Mt. Silver.

"I can do this," I mumbled to myself, avoiding the half concerned look on Bohdi's face and the ticked off glare of Mewtwo who had just appeared.

Let's just go. It doesn't matter how many enemies--if we even face any--there are. We just need to move on. Mewtwo commented hurriedly.

"Why?" I asked as Mewtwo glared at me. He didn't need to say anything. Just realized how stupid asking that was. "Right." I commented.

"I don't want to go in there! It's scary!" Cubone whimpered.

I could feel his tears pour down onto my shirt. I rubbed him in order to soothe him. "We have to." I softly told him. "It's the only way to progress. Apparently." Cubone's eyes watered before he began to cry. Poor fella. Is he really that untrusting of other humans?
