Sorry, it's been so long since I last posted but my computer crapped out on me. I had it fixed three times but I kept losing chapters so I had to purchase a new one and then rebuild the lost chapters. Anyhow, I'm back, and here is the newest TGC chapter.

Major Raphael Sanchez waited for Ian to be done with his interview. One of Ian's sons had run off with his son Tia to the playroom with a puppy and one big ass dog following on their heels. He'd bet money it was a Great Dane. Shane saw his eyes following the dogs. "Don't worry about the dogs. They're examined carefully to assure they've formed the gold rings in the eyes which means they survived the Sickness. None of them are vicious in any way or they don't get homes with us. We have a breeder and two vets that take care of the animals."

Raphael was impressed. These people seemed well set up and prepared. He'd overheard the men preparing to set up manned checkpoint shelters for the incoming to get to and call for help. Regular rounds were made to check on residents of the town. Housing was prepared and by the looks of it, it was not temporary or quickly thrown together. Three-quarters of their town was off-grid and if the power failed families would be alright until power could be restored. They had a central daycare that doubled as Head Quarters so everyone could work at whatever hour was needed.

"Major Raphael Sanchez, I presume?" Ian shook the man's hand and sat down at the dining room table. "Yes, Sir. I'm glad you could take the time to talk to me. You seem busy." Ian shook his head."This is normal for us." Raphael smiled. "So what did you want to know Major?" "Well, your men supplied me with maps and directions to Adelard. We'll reconnoiter the area tomorrow. I understand that we are to live here and that daycare for my son is available."

Ian laughed. "If you can call the tribe of critters running around here a daycare. Your son is welcome with the others." We find that keeping the kids in one area is easier to protect than in multiple areas. Any problems and the hospital is right next door and our Docs make house calls. Collins group is set up on this cul-de-sac and the others are an easy call away. We try to have one group of Army or police officers on each cul-de-sac for a quick response." Raphael nodded. A good setup.

"I was also supplied with a list of places to do 'shopping' at?" Ian laughed. "Under the original deal with Colonel Malone, Black Wolf was to clean up the dead towns and we got all the supplies they found cutting down on what Black Wolf would have to supply us with to get us through the winter. As it stands now if they intend to move people in before winter some of those supplies will be needed for there as well as here. The new terms are a fifty-fifty split and Black Wolf still supplies us with stuff."

"On the list are the places we'll most likely find things we need. We've done a little 'shopping' in Adelard. We haven't touched Ethelwood, Ironwood, or Larsen yet. There are supplies and medicine to be had there and we're going to need it here and in Adelard." Raphael nodded. "That explains the cloth diaper factory on the list." Ian laughed. "Yes, there will definitely be a need for diapers here. Have they set you and your men up with housing yet?" Raphael nodded. "Yes, although I am unsure about the child supplies if I should take any. I don't have a lot of stuff for my boy but it is enough to get by with."

Ian waved his hand. "We supply what's needed and at 4 years old you need clothes and toys, believe me, I've got infants through teenager and I wouldn't say their closets are stuffed but they have everything they will need to face winter. Hats, gloves, boots, and the like. The way they lose those things, we'll never have enough. I found one mitten that had a static cling relationship going on with my coat, and it wasn't my mitten." Raphael chuckled. "I get what you're saying. I just don't want to take from the kids here is all."Ian smiled. "We got plenty and will have more from the dead towns as soon as we can get it. So take what's needed or in the case of toys whatever they run off with tends to be what they want."
