Mieters Hospital

Doc Pater smiled. Four more children had pulled through. Though they had lost their families three would find loving homes in Pepepski. The fourth already had a home with him. He'd decided to get Teddy a brother. Since he knew Teddy and Pascal Koehler were real good friends at their daycare and Pascal was an orphan he'd adopt both boys. Aaron laughed. "Hey, I thought you didn't know what to do with one and now you're taking on two!"

Doc Ater just smiled at him. "What can I say? I've decided to be adventurous." Aaron giggled. "Daddy fever strikes again." Ater laughed. "So did you just come over here to tease me or for something else?" Aaron smiled. "Four more of the men are going to pull through. I just checked their marks." "Which ones?" Aaron pointed them out. "Doc Ater smiled and sighed."Thank goodness. those men are in committed relationships with each other."

Ater giggled as Whiskey did her own version of rounds. She stopped and sniffed at each child's bedside. Ater couldn't help himself. "Do the patients meet with your approval Doctor Whiskey?" Whiskey woofed and sat at Ater's feet. Aaron laughed while Ater scratched behind her ears. "Needed a break from your pups girl?" Whiskey shook herself and woofed. "I'd need a break to girl with that many pups. You're such a good mama." Aaron scratched behind her ears. Whiskey lean into his fingers and closed her eyes.

Leonard held Earnest's hand. "You're not mad about me coming up pregnant Leo?" Leonard shook his head. "I think it's wonderful and amazing and it blows my mind." Earnest sniffled. "I would like you to stay with us, Leo. This world is going to be hard enough. Our son is going to need both of us." Leonard smiled. "To hell with what people think. If Ian and Kyle can pull it off, so can we. From now on you are by my side. No more hiding, no more denying. How's that, my love?"

Tears were running down Earnest's face. "Are you sure that's how you want it because if you promise that to me I'll hold you to it. The first time someone says bad things about having me as a mate and a male born son. Will you defend us or deny us?" Leonard kissed the hand he was holding. "I should have said to hell with this shit years ago but I was a coward. You have always been there for me. Willing to take whatever bits of time we could have. I've been such an ass. I would defend the two of you with my life. If they can't handle us as a couple then they can pick a new leader. Would you be willing to take this old idiot as your mate and father of your child?"

Earnest smiled and nodded. Ater walked over and pulled up a chair. "I'm glad to see you two getting along. It's about time Earnest didn't have to hide his love for you." Leonard smiled. "How long are you going to yank my chain Doc?" Ater grinned. "Ten or so years ought to wear the novelty off it." Leonard grinned and pulled on Earnest's hand. "Give a kiss love. If he's going to yank my chain, let's make the lonely old man jealous." Ater cracked up. "Old man huh? I'm 47, the same age as Earnest. No, if I really wanted to yank your chain I'd say snarky little comments about a certain 59 soon to be 60-year-old man taking a man almost 13 years younger than him to his bed." Leonard blushed. Earnest laughed. "You have that backward Doc. I seduced him.

Ater laughed. While Leonard looked confused. "What do you mean, you seduced me? I asked you out the first time" Earnest gazed at Leonard slyly. "Four months of watching your eyes follow me. Walking past you and putting my needy behind on display. Soft shy looks at you when I caught your attention. Watching you get all wound up when I bent over or brushed against you on accident." Leonard gaped at Earnest. "You mean you did all that on purpose just to get me in bed with you?" Earnest nodded and smiled. "Catching your man is only the beginning Leo. You've got to keep him interested or he might lose interest and go hunting somewhere else."
