Ian looked down as a kitten used his leg to climb up to his lap. "Has anyone reserved a pet yet? With all these pups and kittens here I'm sure some of them must have found homes." Samuel laughed. "Father Steins has reserved two of the Labrador pups. He's taking them home after they're done talking about the school they're setting up. Ms.Heidi took the female Siberian Husky. I think they named her Mookie. Weird name but she seemed to like it." Shane sat down. "All of the pups and kittens have found homes and people are still on the waiting list for them."

Ian nodded plucked it off his leg and pet the kitten. "Hal and Zeke have their work cut out for them." Collins laughed. They're planning on looking over Ethelwood while we're there tomorrow. Ian handed the kitten to the little girl begging for her kitty. "So you've decided where you're going shopping?" Collins nodded and smiled. "We've got two groups going out. One to Adelard and one to Ethelwood and yes I plan to make a withdrawal at that brewery you mentioned. I think Hal is going."

Ian shook his head. "Why the heck does Hal want to go up there?" Collins set his cup down. "He said there's a couple of breeders up there that didn't check in with him. Their places are out in the country up there. He wants to make sure they're okay." Ian frowned." I thought that area was empty." Collins shook his head. "The town itself is dead but we don't know about the more rural areas up there. Mason said they searched but only in the town." Ian sighed. "That area was hit hard when the Sickness went through. We've only had Mason's group come out of there. The group Black Wolf pulled out was traveling through there not from there."

Collins sat back. "So Mason and Samuel and their family are all that's left of Ethelwood?' Ian nodded sadly. "Mason asked to join us because they were the only survivors from around there. To top it off Ethelwood gets fog like crazy. Between all the dead and the fog, they were really scared. They didn't have much of an animal problem then but no one's been up there to know the current conditions." Collins smiled at Shane as he warmed up his cup of coffee. "The men are prepared. We've heard the reports about the dogs in Ironwood. We'll be careful." Ian smiled. "Manuel said they have about 30 people who want to go along for a split of the find. I'd like you to take them. Zion is already rationing food." Collins nodded. "Fine by me. The more the merrier." "Once Manuel gets home the men will travel back here. We'll put them up for the night so they can roll out with you in the morning." Collins smiled. "Sounds like a plan."

Saint John's Rectory

Father Albert Steins hurried to the front door of the rectory with the box in his hands The front room was empty for the moment. "You can set the supplies for these two right over there please." He whispered. The soldiers grinned and placed the bags and cans of food on the floor and returned to the truck for the rest of the dog supplies. Albert put the box with the two pups in it on the floor. "Now you two wait right here for the boys to come." Albert giggled. This was going to be fun. Father Shawn Heintz walked into the room and looked in the box. "Two? You brought home two of them?" Albert giggled."We have enough boys to keep them busy."

"Are they housebroken?" "Not completely. But we have a box of puppy pads to help with that." Shawn groaned. "I thought you wanted an adult to help guard the boys?" Albert cocked his head to the side."I did, but I just couldn't pass up these pups. They'll grow." Father John wandered in and laughed at Steins. "You're an old softy Albert." John peeked in the box and saw two whining pups looking back at him. "Labradors huh?" He picked up one and checked it over. "He's going to be a good size when he's grown. What's this one's name?' Albert looked over. "That one has the dark ears so he's Goofy and the other I named Growler since he growls and challenges everything."
