Chapter 9

(Raven's POV)

Raven went to Apple's room with her best friend, not knowing how this will work. She hexted Ashlyn if Apple was going to her dorm at break time.

"Please remind me why we are doing this again?" Maddie exhaled.

"To help me not to be a big dork in front of Dexter tonight, that's why." Raven said.

"But you wouldn't be a dork, you're cool."

"Only if Apple agrees with you."
They knocked, and Briar opened the door.

"Hey, come in." Briar smiled brightly, just like a perfect princess.

"Thanks." Raven nervously smiled back.

The girls were seated in a gapped circle with pink papers and pens around them.
Apple noticed the two weirdos.

"That was mean, Narrator." Maddie lectured.

Hey! That's what she thought. Why am I even speaking to you? You were doing a great job ignoring me, until now!

"Why would Apple think we're weirdos?" Maddie fumed.
Apple turned as red as an apple.

"Who are you talking to?" Said Ashlyn.

"Why would you think we're weirdos, Apple?" Maddie tapped her foot impatiently.

Apple shrugged nervously. "It was a casual thought stored at the back of my mind. How did you know what I was thinking?"

"I, um, never mind. We're here for something way more important than that." Maddie couldn't tell anyone that she and Kitty can here the narrator. "Raven, speak."

Raven fidgeted with her dress nervously.

"Um, I just came here b-because," she stammered, "well, for advice. On how I should behave when on a date."

Melody dropped music notes. "What?"

"You?" Briar really wanted to burst out laughing. "On a date?"

"Are you feeling okay Raven?" Ashlyn's face puzzled. "Maddie, did you give her some funny tea or something?"

"If I gave her funny tea she wouldn't be here, but would be laughing madly in our room." Maddie said, totally missing the point as usual.

"I mean," Raven said, embarrassed, "its not really a date, we're just hanging out at the movies, you know."
They were silent for a moment, then suddenly the girls squealed loudly.

"Eeeeee! Raven is going on a date today!" Apple hopped excitedly. "Its today right?"

"Um, yeah. I just want to look my best."

"We will make you perfect!" Ashlyn air-clapped. She was still not talking to Apple properly.

"Great!" Maddie started to leave. "We'll be back at five."

"Four." Raven corrected. "He's picking me up at six, and the movie will start at six-thirty."

"Four it is! Come back soon!" Apple shouted.

They left.

Maddie entwined her fingers with Raven's. "You will look fabulous and hat-tastic, I'm sure of it."

(Melody's POV)

Melody was seated in Apple's room, putting her playlist in order. She had to make everyone flop and prove she was the best DJ ever.

Raven and her friend Maddie walked in the room.
They didn't even get to say hello when Holly pulled Raven onto a chair.

"Now, what do we do with your hair?"
