(Apple's POV)
The next day, the THD organisers were in their hired hall, putting the finishing touches into place.
Apple scanned her clipboard. "The streamers are perfect. Cakes are packaged, right Briar and Cupid?"
"Ready to be given out." Cupid smiled.
Apple ticked that box of things. "Good. Melody, music playlist is set?"
"Yeah, I'm coming over again on the day to do the soundcheck with Humphrey Dumpty."
"Does anyone know if Cerise finished up with the muffins?"
"I think so, I'll message her today. Where is she these days anyway?" Briar asked.
"Oh, you know her," Melody said, "she's always invisible to the school. Not much of a people's person, is she?"
Briar shrugged. "She's always somewhere else, in her little red hood. It's like she has a secret."
"That's nothing for you to know about."
In came Cerise Hood, daughter of Red Riding Hood. Her black eyes glistened in the light, saying she's not to be messed with. She held a long script in her hand, and was followed by Justine.
"This is the list of flavours I've prepared." Cerise showed her the list.
"Okay, multi flavours will work."
"Hey guys." Justine said brightly, walking up to Apple. "Apple, I was wondering if we could beautify the feel of the party. You know, with a sprinkle of ballet." As she said that, she did a little twirl.
"You're quite right I guess," said Apple, "maybe your team could do a short recital while Cupid reads out her exhortation."
"Great, we've been practicing these days and we thought it would look great in the party."
"Its settled. Decor is going good, Hopper?"
"Yes," He said, clipping bundles of pink, red and violet hearts to the wall.
"In that case," Apple confirmed, "we're actually done. Blondie has made the foods and all so, that matter doesn't need to be checked. We actually did it!"
The all high-fived each other for job well-done.
They all sighed and continued touching up the place.
"This party is going to be a success," Briar nodded courageously, "nothing will stop it from happening, I know that for sure."
"Yeah!" The others agreed.
👠👠👠
(Ashlyn's POV)
After school, Ashlyn was headed to her shoe store in the Village of Book End. Today she wore pink flats, a flared long sleeved rosy dress and a cute rosy beret.
She wanted to finish some homework while Cupid handled some of the customers.
She unlocked the transparent double doors and turned the Closed sign around. She dropped her sling bag on the loveseat and went to the counter.
Her phone rang.
"Hello?""Hey Ashlyn, it's Cupid here. I had to call from someone else's MirrorPhone 'cause mine's out of battery."
"Oh, okay. Are you coming over?"
"Yep. See you in thirty."
"Sure." She hung up.
Her and Cupid had to do the shoe arrangement now, since Hunter isn't coming to help anymore. Ashlyn knew he wouldn't want to come and help out in a place where he'd be at 24/7 with his ex. It's awkward and heart breaking.
Ashlyn arranged the second batch for today's sale in their shelves, and a customer popped in.
It was Meeshell Mermaid. She wore sea-blue leggings under a river-green lace dress, and black heeled boots. Her hair was in pigtails.
"Hi." She smiled.
"Afternoon."
The mermaid scanned the rows of shoes. "Um, I'm looking for a pair of Black Converse please. In size 4."
Ashlyn went to the back room and searched for the Converse boxes, checking the sizes. She finally found the size in a few minutes and brought the box out for Meeshell.
"Will these do?" She said.
Meeshell took the shoes out and tried them on her summoned feet. They only came when she was done swimming in her glorious green mermaid tail. She is the daughter of The Little Mermaid, Ariel.
"I feel, comfortable. I think these are perfect, as a bonus their also soft inside. I need my feet to take a break." She slipped them off and placed them back into the box.
Ashlyn took it to the counter and checked the price. "That will be Ch100 please, there's no sale this month."
Meeshell gave her the money. "Hey, why don't you create one for this week? I mean, so many people will be shopping for THD."
"Oh, well that's not bad." Ashlyn handed the receipt. "Everyone wants to look pretty for the party, so I could introduce new sales for the month. People will be cray-cray 'bout 'em, I'm sure."
She packed the box in a paper bag and Meeshell took it.
"Thanks for purchasing at my store, have a good day." Ashlyn said.
"Oh," Meeshell stopped, "you should probably have a good day too. You know, 'cause of the whole break-up thing. Stay strong." She waved and left.
Ashlyn wanted to crumble again, pour out all the dreadfulness from her poor soul. She knows she shouldn't stress like this, thinking of a relationship that might never be reformed again.
To say the truth, she really missed Hunter like hell. They were always together, even though to other people they seemed like normal friends.
But now, they weren't even workmates at all. She was told that he came to help when her shift was over. And that hurt bad.Ashlyn waited for more customers. She browsed on her MirrorPhone to pass the time.
