(Raven's POV)

Dexter slid his arm around her waist, and she slipped hers round his neck.
The music flowed into their step.

"I've never ballroom danced before." She said, breaking the silence between them.

"I have, only once or twice back home." He said, and his voice darkened a moment later. "Brother has done this a thousand times already."

"Well, he couldn't top up to the way you dance, it feels, real."

He blushed. "I saw him run outside in anger, is he okay?"

"I don't know, he really got it from Cedar." She said. "He likes her but she rejected him, so I don't know what's gonna happen now."

"We may not know what's gonna happen for them, but we can make what's gonna happen for us happen now."
He took her hand and led her to the back of the hall, out into the moonlight.

"This is a beautiful place." She smiled.

"It leads to the forest again, to the Village of Book End." He plucked a rose from the flowerbed and slipped it into her hair.

"What's that for?" She giggled, tilting her head slightly.

"It's just a thank you gift from me."

"Come on Dexter, how many times are you going to be thankful to me? Can we forget that ever happened?"

He laughed. "Is it that boring?"

"Trust me, it's driving me crazy." She laughed as well. "Seriously, quit it."

The laughs died down as they stared at each other, taking mental notes on how each of them were wonderful in their own ways.

And they leaned in.

Raven stroked his hair softly, while he held her waist in his arms. Their kiss lifted hearts in the air, floating around them.

It suddenly became a long, deep kiss, enough time for someone to come out and spot them.

And someone did. The person didn't squeal in delight or invite others to the perfect scene, she just stood there, gaping, with her eyes wide open, her breath sucked out.

They broke apart and smiled at each other, relieved that they didn't do anything more than kissing.

Raven looked at him, knowing fully well that she always loved this guy, but she just didn't know it. She always denied it, but now she couldn't believe that she'd gotten her first kiss from him. She was happy with him, no other boy would fit her well.

Dexter looked at her, finally happy that she has feelings for him too. He knew she was special, his crush for her never subsided, it always grew, and now it's a permanent attraction for her. He just loved her so much, and he never wanted to give her up.

The way they stared at each other trigged a bullet in the person's soul. She was totally heartbroken, but she wanted to confirm what she just saw, so she walked up to them.

They both noticed her and smiled.

"Hey Cupid." Dexter grinned, while she had no trace of happiness on her face.

"Hey," she replied coldly, "are you two together?"

"Yes," said Raven, feeling overwhelmingly happy, "I guess we are right now." She smiled at her new boyfriend, who smiled back.

"So what about the girl you liked so much?" Cupid directed it to Dexter. "Have you lost it for her?"

"No, actually Raven is the one I wrote the letter to, she was the mystery girl the whole time."

"Mystery girl? You've got to be kidding me." Raven teased.

"Sorry but it fit you well." He teased back.

"Hey!" She playfully hit him.

Cupid could clearly see they liked each other so much, so there was no point in hoping this wasn't happening.

All she could do was say something nice and go away and cry.

"Hey," she started as they stopped chuckling, "I just want to wish you guys a happy True Hearts Day and, I hope this is a great beginning for you guys." She blinked back her tears.

Raven noticed them. "Um thanks, you too. Are you, okay?"

Dexter also looked at her in concern. "Yeah, you seem off."

"Tired is all," Cupid answered quickly as she turned away from them, "just exhausted."

She left before they could say anything more.

"That was weird." Raven said.

"I hope she really is tired, 'cause I didn't see a trace of it."

"Maybe we should go back inside now, we've been out for quite some time." Raven took his hand, sending a magical electrical spark down both their spines, and went back inside the hall.

                        💞🌷💐

(Holly's POV)

Dana, Justine and Alize were slow dancing with their partners gracefully, not having a care in the world.
While the other girls were still at their table, waiting for their prince charmings.

"God, when are you going to ask him?" Alyssa shook her head in disbelief, very disappointed in Geneva, who was beginning to panic.

"Um, I will once I've checked if there are any veggies stuck in my teeth." She plucked out her MirrorPhone and checked her white stain-free diamonds.

"You've been doing that for the past ten minutes! Get a grip!"

Holly, however, was busy scrolling things on her MirrorPhone. She was pretending to be lost in her phone world when she was actually rejoicing and dancing inside.
She was feeling so happy that Geneva has zero guts to pull a simple thing like asking a guy to dance with you off. Especially if that guy was her one and only crush.

She continued to scroll in relaxation when Poppy glanced at her phone.
"What are you doing that's keeping you so busy like that?"

Holly shrugged. "Neh, nothing at all. Just uploading things to my status is all."

Poppy looked closer. "No you're not, you're writing in your phone's diary."

Holly raised her brow, hanging her phone toward the table so she could see clearly. "Am I?"

"Uh, yeah you are. You only write in your diary when you have no one to talk to. And when you have no one to talk to, it means you don't want to talk to anyone. Are you cooking something up?"

Holly rolled her eyes and switched her phone off. "Quit the food chain will ya? Why wouldn't I want to talk to anyone?"

"Because you're cooking something up."

"What am I cooking?" Holly dared, staring her sister in the eye.

"I know you too well Holly, I know there's something wrong with you. And when there's something wrong with you, you become even worse than Duchess Swan." Poppy narrowed her eyes.

"Really?" Said Alyssa, who had been eavesdropping the whole time.

"Really what?" Said Poppy, trying to erase what she was saying.

"So Holly can get even worse than Duchess?" She crunched the fairycorn in her mouth. "Wonderlicious."

And then she continued paying attention to Geneva's nervousness.

Poppy turned back to her sister, who also grabbed some fairycorn.
"Pretend that never happened."

"Of course." She chewed.

"Anyway sis, don't explode like before. Don't go balony on, whatever you want to go balony on." She creased her brows. "I'm serious, this is so not a good place to start up your schemes." She nodded once more and then focused on Geneva.

Holly crunched on, ignoring her words. "I'm serious too, Poppy, it's the perfect place for my schemes. Perfect." And she laid back on her seat, crunching on her sweet savoury fairycorn.
