Joe's POV

Well tonight didn't go as well as we were hoping, about half of our families were ok with it. Nick, my dad, Kevin, Danielle were all about it in my family, Frankie was silent the whole time so I don't know what he thought. On Demi's family, only her mom and Madison were happy about it. I was surprised when her mon was ok with it more then her sister Dallas, Dallas just looked taken aback the whole time. Then there was her stepdad, he did not take it so well. Him and Demi left to talk after the people who had approved were celebrating. We could all hear most of the conversation through the door, it wasn't light. After their heated coversation, Demi came out and said goodbye to everyone. Her eyes were wet, but she was standing strong. We then left with more congratulations, when we got to the car I wanted to talk. Demi told me that we'd talk when we get home though, she was too upset right now. I pull into the garage and turn off the car. I look over at Demi and she's trying to hold back tears, she looks over at me and smiles a fake smile. I get out of the car and open her door for her, when she's out she rushes into my arms. The conversation must of been worse than I had thought. I pick her up and carry her into our room, I hold her for a few minutes trying to calm her down.

" I'm sorry. " she says pulling back to look me in the eyes. Her eyes glisten in the light and make me want to stop talking and just kiss her, but we need to talk so I resist the temptation.

" Why are you sorry? " I ask, there was no need for her to be sorry.

" I'm a mess. " she says moving her fingers through my hair, it feels so good.

" Demi, don't be sorry for being upset." I say holding her close to me, she was shaking very lightly.

" Why can't people just be happy for us? " she asks making me think, it's true. It's our lives, why can't they just accept?

" My mom and your dad will come around. " I say hoping it will comfort her.

" I want them at the wedding Joe. " she making me want the same thing.

" They will be, our wedding won't be for a while now. If we want to release our albums first, we might not even get married until late next year. They will come around by then. " I say hoping it will come true. Demi just nods her head, I don't think she believes me yet. She will though someday.

I wake to an empty bed, and the first thing I think of is where she could be. I look around the room and notice she's not there either. I get up and walk to the bathroom, nope. I pull on a shirt and walk downstairs, finally I find her sitting next to the fire. She always loved being warm even when it wasn't the coldest. She looked over at me and smiled, this smile was not fake. I walk to her and sit next to her to see why she is suddenly happy again.

" Hey. " I say grabbing her hand which is warm since its been by the fire for awhile. Her skin is soft and smooth, it's crazy how little things about her make me go crazy. She absolutely is the most axing person I know.

" Hey. " she says staring at our intertwined hands, her smile hasn't faded yet. I can't help but stare for a minute, the longer I stare the wider her smile becomes. Soon enough she's smiling her famous teeth showing smile. The smile that makes everything right. I then smile a teeth showing smile and we break down laughing. I don't know why and I do t think she does either, but it's fun.

" You seem to be in a good mood. " I say trying to stop laughing, but still wondering why. I thought she would still be upset.

" Yeah, I've decided I don't really care about all of that stuff right now. I just want you and I to be happy. " she says getting up from her spot to sit in my lap. I wrap my arms around her warm skin, moments like this are priceless.

" I'm glad, I feel the same way. " I say wanting this moment never to end.
